| Tire chains...
Has anyone tried making tire chains for a 40 series tire before? And how well do they work. I was at lowes and thought why not, it took 15 ft for two tires. The chains seem a bit small to actually do much but look cool. I currently don't have a tightening chain or cable so there is a bit of give even though when putting them on the tires I had to compress them a bit. Don't know how they will hold up to spinning like crazy on the ice but for the slow stuff should do fine. Still jonesing for some decent snow, it's raining here again Also mounted a sticky on the controller for the go pro a bit front heavy but looking forward to trying it out, it's gotta be better than having a camera bouncing around on the strap. Chains look cool, but wonder how they will hold up. Since the tires balloon it might actually work and also make it balloon less. The gopro mount is a good idea. |

Those really looks cool. It would take me longer to make them than the snow would be on the ground. I hope we get a good snow this year. I soooo want to bash the YXL on some ice. I wasn't back into RCing this time last year and now I have 10 cars, 3 quads, and a plane... crazy.

I made a set just like those for my 2wd slash. They worked incredibly well, I think you'll be happy. For tensioning bands, I made mini bungies using a small o ring and some extra links of that chain, worked quite well and looked nice and scale... |

I finally got to put the chains and lockers to good use. Pulling the daughter around on the sled. I didn't know how well it would go this year, she has grown, and the Mud Slingers did an awesome job last year. Here are two videos one on 4S and one on 2S. it was cold around 5°F but after I got her to listen about leaning in the corners she was having a much better time. Flat Lander Sledding - 4S https://youtu.be/6XihmQ5iono Flat Lander Sledding – 2S https://youtu.be/mN5HEVH4EW8 I was surprised how well it pulled running only 2S, it just didn’t have the top speed. |

Similar chains made my 2wd slash go from useless in the snow to driving great in a straight line. Steering still wasn't great but it was a blast.

Cool, it seems to turn pretty decent with them on I could even get it to traction roll in deep snow if I tried to turn too fast at speed. They don't work as well as my mudslingers in the snow but with them down with wallowed out rims I needed to try something to get the stickers up to par. But they are very close or possibly even better on the ice with the chains. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

These things are insane haha, they will go anywhere. At first I was sceptical that they would come off, but so far they've proven to hold together and chew through the snow/ice. |

Looks nice, I like the bigger chains instead of those little dinky 40lb chains.

Nice, I went for the cheap ones I found at lowes since I didn't know how they would hold up, but next winter I'm gonna have to make some like that with bigger links. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would have liked to put studs in the tires but didn't want to pull them apart so that's why the chains. After my initial glue job I don't see them ever pulling off the rims. And barharbor you definitely have a few more good years for pulling the daughter around my girl is 60lbs this year and the truck was still doing decent even on 2S.
