[QUOTE=BarHarborBasher;5716939] ![]() I wouldn't think the heat will be such a big problem, I would rather think you will find a lot of brass debris inside! nevertheless, it make sense since that bushing is standing still against the rotating pinion. A thrust bearing would have done the job, but unfortunately there is none on the market on those dimension :( |

Hi all. I'm looking to get an Xl once I can sell my 4x4 slash. Is this the only mod that needs to be done to It? Or it's not necessary on 4s. I live in Australia so I'm worried about breaking parts as they cost a lot more here. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk |

Most important is to change ALL the bearings. After that is at your choice. This mod or three bearing mod (with perfect shimming), steering rack and drive shaft mod is what you HAVE to do. All the rest are optional. Also depensing if you are planning to run on 4 or 6S

Any updates to this? Also.. cant we just drill 1mm more off the screw holes in the diff to move the pinion away and remove 1 or 2 shims? If the 3 screws set the pinion mesh if the holes were further down wouldn't it work the same? |

My personal (but very enlightened ![]() ![]() Nevertheless there is one single thing I think does more than BHB mod, and it is a Good Slipper!!!! e.g. Robinson Racing RRP1564 does the job. You can also use the mod1 50T spur from Robinson Racing RRP7350 if you want mod1 gears. (ok diameter to be able to match the orig. distance between shafts and gear ratio). A good slipper will save a lot. Or center diff, but you need BHB level of scratchbuilder in you to do that. |
