Zip tie's are just extra insurance. But yeah I might try the forza holder or the traxxas one.
Thanks mate

I tired on these hot bodies axel extenders.
I'm not sure if I'm going to use them as the hub carries are more exposed, but the track is heaps wider.

Dart Vader is a nice touch. I've always wondered why more people don't build complete rigs from parts that other people have removed. i think that I'm going to go this route to get a yeti. Have you had any trouble locating parts? Or were they pretty easy to find?

Thanks mate, yeah I was being a tight ass and the parts where going pretty cheap on eBay. Most parts I bought the cheap. I probably saved around $150, the kit is around 550 or so.
Most parts are easy to find.

Jrc where selling heaps on eBay but have now slowed up on the YXL parts.

The main problem was screws, even tho I bought there "so called" screw set, it was missing heaps and I had to buy from dollar hoobies and axial/tower hoobies.

If you can get them cheap on eBay I say go for it, otherwise get the kit and it comes with everything besides esc motor etc saves waiting for parts from the mailman.
Cheers Ben

I would get the kit and hop it up and use the old parts to build a second xl. I changed so much stuff on my truck all I really need is differential gears , transmission and a main chassis and I can build another truck.

Finally!!!! It's done, parts turned up today yay
Built from cheap parts on eBay, stole the esc and motor of my savage flux alza cd truck, but that's ok will replace later on.

I did have to use Hpi big bore shocks on the front, the yeti shocks are so soft, I refilled shocks but didn't do much, might try something thicker.

I took it for a quick spin (dark outside) and impressed so far, plenty of power, and plenty torque twist, shocks are all way to soft but will test it out a bit more before I changed oil and it does need the rear sway bar but will have some fun with it first.

Hopefully get it out this weekend and stretch its legs.

Cheers Ben
Oh and the steering is shit house. I will be upgrading the rest of the steering and getting Aluminum bell crank.

Well that lasted about 5 mins

Lost wheel nut, wheel isn't stripped but it's actually melted the plastic around the hex, that's pretty piss poor for about 5 mins run time. And that was on grass and painted (slippery) cement, il be sending an email to axial and ask for a replacement set.
What is a better rim to use?

Lucky I have spare wheels.

Stop wile your ahead !!! I KICK myself in the ass for sticking with the RTR hubs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would Highly recommend the HR hub kit !! The XL that I bought from Capwn has them and he NEVER stripped a wheel !!!

BTW ... Its funny that the V1 wheel nut had a nylon lock ... The V2 would of been better if they added a nylon lock...

Sell you rtr hubs and don't look back !! The EXTRA cost now will save you some seriously pissed off trips !!! I've been smashed down by this TOO many times !!!

Effort setting up the rig.. Charging batteries, loading up tools , grabbing cameras , getting the time to GO , drive 15 minutes to the bash spot .. and just to see a wheel strip out in 5 minutes !!

This gets very old QUICK !!! I came close to smashing it off a tree last time .....

Cheers mate,
I've been there before, driven 20 mins just to lose a wheel nut in the first minute.
Lucky today it was in the front yard.
I was only trying to run down my battery's and recharge for the weekend.

Just found this lols

WTF !! Never had that one happen to me lol That's crazy !! Once again the HR Hub adapter is the cat's ass !!
Next time don't crank it down too tight, use blue Loctite and let it cure over night .
After a had a couple wheels strip; I started overnighting the wheel nuts causing the pin to have way to much stress leading to them breaking easily !!!

Your pin looks bent as well.
