who crawls their YXL?

Yeah i know .. its a huge 1/6 scale truck..
but why not have 1/6 crawler course?
its 32p gears vs mod1 so you have more gears to make for smoother crawling...

just wondering..

So Mike I figured out how to modify your telescoping drive shaft. I was looking at my output shaft for the front bulkhead and was thinking if I cut the ends off and installed pins I could make it the length that you were looking for.. I'm sorry for the delay I've unexpectedly found out my mother has stage 4 cancer so the hospital runs has kept me pretty busy... if you wanted to; I could cut the one that I have and you could send me a new one and call it even because that rig looks amazing!!

So sorry to hear about your Mom. F-That driveshaft and take care of Mom.

Go ahead and keep the HR DS. I need to modify my Twin Force shafts for my 1/6 TJ in a similar matter that the HR would need. They are a bunch cheaper so i'll practice on those. If it works, when you open your GPM store i'll get some shafts from you.

What springs / oil weight are you running?

At the moment I mainly crawl mine with open diffs and its pretty good, but the stock springs are too soft to give much ground clearance.

we were throwing around the idea of having a crawl session with all the big scales... solid axle and independent as well.
Set up 5 stages, 10 flags per stage, and have things like hill climbs, jumps across ditches, ramp jumps, off camber crawls, ditch climbs etc etc
We could have the Monster Truck guys( traxxas emaxx, xmaxx, ground pounders etc) and the yeti's and the other "non-crawlers" (savage, summits) out there and have a "bashing" event with some challenges other than breaking your shtuff
leaving out scale points and winches and HOG's... of course..

I crawl mine, but it has dewalt motor and is locked front and rear.

It's 2016 and finally someone doesn't discriminate against IFS.. I didn't have my BHB high clearance set-up in my video.. But I'll set it up in my other XL so you guys can see it in action Huge difference !!
My XLX should be a beast with the HC IFS/IRS, 9" rock loc comp tires, 4 wheel steer, 2 speed , 9/68 , T8 sensored 1700k.v + MMX, 7950TH front and back...
I'll just have to upgrade my TX/RX in my fatshark for 1,600 miles and mail you my rig lol... Could you flip it back over for me if I roll lol... I don't like self-righting ..

I've been looking at alternative power sources as well... My buddy gave me a 48 volt weed whacker that the shaft was junk on ... ... Holly brush batman !I've got one brushless 18v Milwaukee that I've thinking about using in a budget build as well..

BHB if you use the 18v you need to feed it 18v because it will not perform and will overheat.

We have a group of guys that are trying get the Monster Truck scene back up.. they follow the Monster jam's and they like to crawl.. We have a vendor that likes to bash too so he usually supplies us with prizes.
So a bash fest of sorts for Nitro and Electric guys..

This Thursday the MT guys are going to "race" so i ll bring the YXL and we ll test some ideas we have.
ex: Fence ride or Fence Flips, Relay races where they have to jump and do a can crunch, back flip challenge: a back flip and land it you can continue the course. Hill Race.. etc etc

I used to crawl with mine but my buddies all had 1:10 so their track wasn't that hard for me when coming in the yet xl. So now bought a wraith to crawl with.
