| Quick Lipo reference for newbies to yeti XL
Ok guys thought we need a thread on this, always new people to rc that need a hand choosing batteries for the yxl. I don't want to turn this into a "whole" technical thread on ratings and what not, just a simple guide to choose from others are running in there yxl. Although it is important to understand lipo battery's, there is plenty of info out there, Google is your friend. Rules are simple Name your esc and Lipo's that you use... 2 or 3s Not what your mate is running next door. Mamba monster 2 6s 2 x 3s 5000mah 40c $110 each Running time around 20-30 min depending on hoonish driving. Last edited by VNEMSS; 06-18-2016 at 04:40 AM. |

CC XL2 TP 4050 1700kv SPC-- 2 x 5600mAh, 3s, 60c, soft-case MaxAmps-- 2 x 6000mAh, 3s, 100c Both are great sets of bats... with the MaxAmps edging out the SPC for quality (drive time and power). However, I don't believe the MaxAmps are $190 better. |

Awesome info guys. Bloody spc will not ship international Max amps says they will but I'm waiting for confirmation before I complete transaction. There is bugger all decent lipos in Australia, and even when I settle on one it was out of stock. |

Can't you buy from Hobbyking? Keep in mind that lipos are restricted on normal postage, they can be shipped only with UPS , DHL and other like those and you will pay accordingly. Usualy more than $150 Sent from my Sony Xperia Z5 |

I got 2 sets of the new Turnigy Graphine 7500mAh batts. They last around 1 - 1.5 hours with the 2 speed gearbox. Usually end up breaking something before you use the second set!

I'd say 25% full throttle high gear racing and the rest crawling around the slate quarry we play in using low gear. The Graphine 7500's outlasted the Turnigy nanotec 6200 my mate uses in his by a fair while. I was supprised how long they lasted and they seem to hold their power more, not dropping off as other lipo's do. But they are bl00dy expensive!

I'm thinking about picking up a pair of the Turnigy Graphene batteries myself. At least just to see if they're any better than the Turnigy Ultimate batteries. I've been using Turnigy Ultimate 6600mah 2s batteries and have NO complaints at all. I've used these packs a few dozen times and they still measure 1mohm on each cell across both batteries. Run times are about an hour but I'm mostly trail running with a few speed passes. 17t pinion and Tekin RX8gen2/4038 2250kv. Does anyone know of a 5s battery that fits in the yeti xl without mods? I'm thinking of running two in parallel without going 6s and breaking everything on my truck |

Or you can try, as I did, a 12T pinion on 6S. It becomes almost manageable. I don't consider this rig was built for 6s on 18T and usualy run it on 2x4S/18T but I broke one of the batteries and I could only recover 2 out of 4 cells. So, for the moment, I'm forced to run it on 6S, but, like I said, with 12t (or 11????) it is almost ok Sent from my Sony Xperia Z5 |

How long they will last I don't know, time will tell, but I do think they are the best batteries I own at the moment. | |
