Question Battery Sizing

I have been all over the place trying to figure what battery packs will fit nicely in the compartments. I have the dimensions of the compartments so I know what it specs out as.

Looking at some 2s packs (want to run a pair in series) on HK but from what they list for dimensions, nothing seems to quite fit. Few mm too wide or tall or whatever.

What packs and mAh are you guys fitting in the battery compartments? Hoping for at least 5000mAh.

Official Axial measurements state that the battery compartment is 43mm wide. I own 47mm wide lipos (3S 6200mah 40c) and they fit.

There is a thread about what sizes people have fit. SMC has a 8000 or 9000mah 2s that fits.

Awesome that is what I was hoping. I have dumped money into lipos online before and didnt work out. Rather not deal with that again.

As 84yoda mentioned, I have the SMC 9000mah 2s and the fit like a glove.

What sort of run times are getting with the 9000mAh pack?

I have two Zippy 4S 5000mah in parallel, so a total of 10.000mah and I can run it for about 45 min.

I am running the same as Tzicul. You either get bored or break something before the batteries die....

Well, because I manage to broke one of the batteries some time ago, now I'm running on 6S. One 4S and one 2S in series. But when I ran it on 4S I broke a rear GPM shaft, one rear diff, some links from the rear drive train and one A-arm.

I use 2 of these:

Turnigy Graphene 7500mAh 2S2P Hardcase Lipo Pack (ROAR APPROVED) (UK Warehouse)

I find with decent batteries on 4 cell the car is pretty much undriveable, and they last a fair amount of time with the 2 speed. Last weekend 4 batteries lasted 2.5 hours of messing around in the local quarry and i still has some juice left over.

you shouldn't do it but you can. You need to make sure they have the same capacity and similar c ratings. c ratings by amps not by the number.

Indeed! It's just that I'm using a 2S that came from a dismembered 4S of the same type, bought at the same time, used in the same way. So we are ok
