I didn't manage to get the YXL out at the weekend, I took my 5ive out for a onroad bash instead, it's well too muddy at my normally bash spots at the mo for my liking :(

But had a Gearhead mini light bar and mount turn up today from RC Mart

A few more bits done...

Alloy link mounts

Shock mounts

A fancy carbon front top plate , was only 5 bucks so was hard to say no that price lol

http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...psjrd25tsy.jpg

Also gone over to Proline front body mounts, so much neater than shitty body clips

I like the black, looks mean.
Do you have a link for the body clips?

Oh and a mod (I think) I came up with.... Beefy lower links! I was looking through the left over parts from the kit and found the RTR lower link stiffeners and wondered if I could fit them under the alloy kit ones, worked out perfect with some spacers and longer screws I had kicking about :)

How they should look if built to the book.....

Keep an eye on the Pro Line body mounts. I ran em for a while and every now and then on a roll over or crash the retaining cap would rip out and get lost in the dirt some where.

Re: I've just joined the YXL club

I've got some longer set screws on the way, the ones which came with the kit are way to short imo, so hopefully they will help

I use some old shock o rings and double up. Takes a pair of pliers to get the off and provides a little more protection for the body.

Cool, I won't be fitting the bulk just yet, I've got a pair of GPM alloy diff cups on the way, I'll do the swap over all at the same time

Love the build, so how does yours do on torque steer? Im wanting to redo stuff on mine since rtr version .. what weight oil in shocks reccomended and what weight in diffs if im wantin best driving setup? My cruddy tactic servo tsx45 is junk so i used the hitec 5645mg that i had laying around and need more than that but steering links are big issue too.

Re: I've just joined the YXL club

I've only driven mine round my front room, loads of torque twist, but I'm not worried about it really, if I wanted something to handle I would have got a truggy instead lol

Diffs are stock at the mo 20k F&R, the shocks I have 45wt with a Baja medium helper springs with stock lower on the front, the rear is 30wt oil, front helper springs and stock lower, but I will more than likely tune them further

Had a RR Gen3 Slipper arrive today

http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps6yjtqe59.jpg

Luckily I had foreseen this upgrade and had already modded the trans case, so it only took 10 mins to fit, I've also dropped down to a 13t pinion....

Keep the nut FULL tight or it will slip. It will still slip at full tight but not as bad.

I shaved a little of the thrust spacer and thought about adding a .5 mm shim/spacer benind the spring.
