What Did You Do to Your Yeti XL Today?

Axial YETI XL with Proline Racing 40 series Trenchers. After rounding out two different sets of wheels. I decided to test the Proline 40 series Trenchers paired with Associated hubs and 17mm wheel nuts. The Trenchers were very impressive at this bash spot. The wheel and tire combo are not to heavy and provide plenty of bit.

Installed HR piggyback reservoir shocks,rear axle truss,and 17 mm hubs.

Added a TBone Racing Diff Skid Plate to help protect the Vanquish Axle. Simple but great add.

Finally got to install my BHB modified gears he did for me. Awesome guy to hook me up. Then after watching way to many of his vids and a few members here with VP axles, I had to get one. Then I had to buy some HR goodies because I stayed up late looking on ebay. Everything works great except I noticed with the HR Lower and Upper Aluminum link mounts I have some play in them left to right. I'm thinking some o-rings in there might fix that or if someone has a better idea.

Maxx, it looks great, a solid investment!

About the HR link mounts, mine are totally tight with no slop in them. Are you sure maybe you didn't overtighten them and stripped the threads?

Thanks mtr1514, I think the rod ends are narrower then the stock ends. I need to measure them to be sure. I know I didn't over tighten them as the bolts are threaded pins that can pass all the way threw. I'm pretty sure adding o rings will solve it.

The rig is gonna get banged up but this little piece will help protect the bling. It also holds up the body with the fin on top.

Busted my first bearing which was a front diff bearing. Didn't even take that big a jump when it went. The symptom was just a clicking sound. The rig was still going but just this annoying clicking. I thought it was the tranny but after checking the mesh, removing the tranny, turning the front drive shaft by hand, I isolated it to the front bulkhead. Anyways it was as stock bearing so I replaced both bearings with Fast Eddy ones, which I already had in waiting, and changed out the diff oil while I was at. But at least I now know what a busted bearing sounds like.

Family RC is always awesome to watch. Was that really your boy driving? If so he has more control than 95% of the YT I see. Watch out future racer there.

Today he flew a parkzone Cub S (on buddy box)

I just wish there was wireless buddy box/trainer for surface radios


He is 3 and started driving a $30 wltoys crawler a year ago. Then a 1/16 scale rock racer from wltoys and now the Yeti XL

I had his rates turned down to 30% forward and 60% backwards throttle.

I lost a c clip and some damage to the diff shims on the rear bevel gear :(
