blew out my front diff :(

need to do a tear down to see what failed. Was running it hard at a farm in super soft dirt spinning the tires and drifting turns.... then pounding it through the tilled rows.

btw this thing is really hard to drive as a RWD drifter :o

update.

Good News; only broken dog bone.
Bad news, the stupid hot racing 17mm hex hub adapters for the RTR front axles is stuck. one of them looks is jammed on, even after removing set screw. Others I could use a rubber mallet and tap and they would come off. This one I have been at it for an hour and it isnt coming off.

So I need to buy the Kit front axles and new knuckles and carriers....

Shuld have never got those HR 17mm adapters.

Waste of $$ :(

The HR adapters are the cats ass with the RTR with stock wheels..Yeah they can be a pain in the ass to remove but way better than stripping a wheel in 5 minutes.. I've fell victim by using too much loctie... I just set the hex over my vice and reinstalled the Allen screw 1/2 way and simple tapped it out....

Wish ya luck with it. I tried it a year ago and took forever for the disk to break in then it broke twice.

So I'm trying to setup this new RR Gen 3 64T slipper clutch and I found if you tighten the nut all the way and back off a quarter turn like the instructions say, it will no roll the tires when pushed across the floor like the stock slipper clutch did. When I power it up and run it that way the spur gear gets really hot fast. If I loosen the nut enough where I can push and roll the tires across the floor, the clutch slips way too much when I power it up and run it.

Did you guys run into this problem? This slipper clutch had a lot of great reviews and am still trying to figure it out. Worst case I will just put the stock one back in but if anybody has any input it would be appreciated.

So I found a thread on this specific clutch. Turns out you need to tighten the nut all the way and break it in. As you go along you may need to tighten it more. In doing this the spur gear ran a lot cooler this time. I could actually rest my fingers on it. Before it must of been over 200 degrees because it was actually slipping too much. It actually handles better now with acceleration and control on loose gravel.

I tried the RR slipper with not so good results. Twice when I finally got the friction ring bedded or seated in where it worked great it cracked. Good luck hope all works out for you.

I hear you Steve. If it gives out on me I'll probably just go back to stock. I might get new pads and tighten the nut more with the old slipper clutch. But for now this appears to be an improvement. I'll have to see if it maintains.

Did some good old fashioned, hard core rock racing. After taking a couple of pictures I tried to do a video of it hauling ass down a gravel road, Tx in one hand, iPhone in the other. Bad idea! While trying to hit the play button I accidentally sent the trigger in full reverse. The beast did a perfect forward somersault about 10-15 feet then a couple of cartwheels and landed squarely on all fours. Unfortunately didn't catch it on video (video only has blurry gravel at my running feet and me yelling "Oh s*%t! You can see the wiped clean area on th spare which took most of the impact.
Good news is no harm done except to my pride. Unscathed and ready to go again.

my RTR has the plastic steering links and I like them since my 3 yo son hits stuff pretty hard..... but they have a lot of slop. So I replaced the plastic balls with metal ones and I have noticed much better handling. a good compromise between adjustable metal links and plastic ones

May be for some body it will be useful. I tried new lipo batteries 4S. It's not for bashers (not 6S) =)
For me is important not voltage, but capacity of batteries for crawling and mudding. I found maximum size of 4s batteries for Yeti XL.
The model is Team Orion LiPo 5300 4S 14,8V 50C
But you will need to cut some plastic from battery tray doors =) So if you connect parallel you will get 10600 mAh!!!
Here is some photo:

Hi!
Use this video and make hi clearence!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBTh...__XxQ&index=27
But I use rods from traxxas jato.

It's really hi! =)

Also install radio box from traxxas summit/revo because its more waterproof, and put it higher then stock radiobox. For me it's important, because my yeti is always in mud and water =))

And one more =) Installed very cool rims from TFL

compare to stock

I like this car =)

Looks great ! Works even better ! He didn't get to mention 126 mm CVDs, Dremel modding of the chassis plate and slightly sanding the upper-inner knuckle carrier for CVD clearance helps.

looking to see why I lost power to the front tires from about a week ago.... and...

All 4 screws holding the gear to the diff cup had ripped out of the plastic diff cup :/

Replacing it with a GPM or Hot Racing metal diff cup

Anyone else have this happen?

Also picked up the GPM font bulkhead

Wow, that is crazy! Those diff screws are super long.

I have never heard of that happening, I think there may be bigger issues....something seized that thing up.
