What Did You Do to Your Yeti XL Today?

I built my transmission (while I am waiting on parts to start building just about everything else)

The photo of that transmission is not exciting so I probably won't post it

What about y'all - what did y'all do to your Yeti XL today?

pretty much what I've done with mine. I'll drive soon. Just been tinkering with my smaller scale rides and crawler in the colder months

I got to run a full pack ( 6s ) through the yeti and I didn't break anything

Nothing, but purchased HR Piggybacks and limiting straps. Also got a Dhawk 2 speed kit on the way

Same here. The low voltage cut-off gave me the impression something broke, but it was fine. Never felt happier about running out of power

My wife got me a Yeti XL kit for Christmas. All I've had time to do is open it.

Starting to make a list of goodies to order.

Sold off all my RC stuff a while back so I'm starting from scratch again.

Drove it for the first time! Picked up a well modded used rig a couple of weeks ago.

Also picked up a Yeti 380 RTR for my youngest son. We had good times today! More to come!

Refreshed the shocks with new oil and replaced the plastic shock bushings (that always breaks in cold weather) with a round piece of rubber that fit perfectly in the top shock cap hole. After wedging it in the hole I drilled a hole so I could get the screw thru it to mount it. No more breaking plastic parts on the shock towers. Did this front and rear....

I figured out a MIP upper/lover CVD conversion for the front ��

Installed HR steering knuckles, knuckle carrier set, low friction king pins,rear chassis lower link mount.

I picked up a set of 124 millimeter arrma Typhon CVDs for a replacement for the thin weak stock YXL CVDs. They are a full 5 millimeters straight through and held up 5th scale power on my buddies Kraton. I picked them up for a cool 11$

Just ordered the HR front transmission case.

Tore down the front end. Cleaned everything, regreased the diff and gears. I've got a recent kit version that came with the HD helical gears, and I've been running it on 4s so far. I was very happy to see that the pinion and differential look great - no chipping, no uneven wear.

Well tried to run 6S for the first time today, Mud Slingers hooked a little too good.. Spun the 17mm hex in the wheel and melted the plastic.. duho!

Moding Stripped Out Wheels

If you don't go this route and decided to pick up a 2nd set of wheels buy the hr hubs with the web lock and add two extra slits for the 40 series web. Loctie . Let them set over night and don't check them or you break the bond.

Lol... My thoughts are that they are Way too short lol. They measured the fill length instead of pin to pin... I found a set of HD Universal's for the Nero that I might try.. this time I'll go to the LHS and check it out first...

I noticed the rear of my roll cage was getting a little chewed up, so I made a bumper out of an aluminum rod.

I've had a similar experience on 6s. I thought about a wheelie bar. But that's almost sacrilegious on a Rock Racer. But you made a great solution to protect the cage and body panels in that area.
