The manual is WRONG. I ran into this on my kit build, the 3 screws are 6MM not 4MM long.

Thanks for the tip. I'll double check it tomorrow when I'm working on it again.

Tomorrow can't come fast enough. Battery's should be here when I get off work. Really hoping to at least fire it up for a few minutes.

Alright, I got everything put together and working in programming it. For some reason the reverse power is way stronger than forward. I read that switching the wires from the motor will fix that. It I wasn't sure which ones. There is red white and black. Which two would I switch?

Do you have a castle link ?
If not the two outside wires.

Watch the led on your esc, green is fwd, red is rev, yellow is neutral. Should be faster in green going forward. My Futaba tells me reverse the channel for throttle on castle esc.

Looking to get an XL. Does the kit have the same components as the RTR version. I see Tower says they wont have any until May. Are there upgrade coming for the XL I should wait for. Was considering an X Maxx. They will be coming out next month with upgrades. My interest is the Yeti XL though.

The kit comes with better parts or upgrades compared to the RTR.

Ended up reversing the wires and transmitter settings.

Gotta say this thing puts a huge smile on everyone's face who sees it. So much fun.

The kit has several upgrades that are definitely nice having. I have no regrets on getting the kit and building it myself. It was my first kit and I haven't messed with any rc's for several years.

Which did you get exactly? I was looking at SPC and they closed. Saw SMC and wasn't sure which ones would be good.

I have ran SPC only for years. I too have been researching since they closed. I have found reviews that SMC are as close as you can get to the quality and price of SPC. Haven't tried SMC yet but I will soon as I need more.

Yeah I was bummed, almost an entire year since I got my XL and never finished it. Now I'm looking to get her going, started pulling up old tabs- only to find SPC is done. Then started surfing here again for info and heard about SMC. It's been sitting on my shelf without the body even painted. Filed my Tax return a few days ago, looks like I'll have no choice but to finish the XL.

The worse part- not only did I find the info I needed. There's more setups I want. The Kyosho Foxx, Bomber, SCX10II, and RC4WD TF2.

I got the SMC batteries. 2 7.4v and 2 11.1v.

It appears the 11.1v are too big for the battery trays. So I need to figure that out.

True Spec Premium 11.1V 5200mAh 112 Amps/90C Deans

These are what I got. Quite a bit too thick. Haven't had time to see if I can make them work just know they don't quite fit.

Ah I was looking at those. Would it be safe to remove the hard casing? Otherwise you may have to exchange them for the soft versions if possible.

I'm going to shoot them an email and ask if I can remove the hard case. Hopefully that will work.
