Default Started my XL kit

Like the title says I started my Yeti XL kit today. Didn't even finish the diffs before running into problems. Missing 4 washers and one of the diff cups doesn't have the groove for the o-ring to sit into.

This is my first kit build so I am a little bummed it's not right but I guess that happens. I waited for my fast Eddie bearings to come in before I started.

I sent axial an email hoping they are fairly fast about it.

Nope. Contemplating ordering the HR aftermarket diff cup for this one. I can get the washers I need at the same time.

I just started my kit this week(first ever build), also missing the four washers. I contacted Axial and they got back to me right away. If your gears are Helical (spiral cut,HD) I'm told that the washers are not needed.
Bummer about the cup they should take care of you right away

Talked to them today. Sending a replacement cup and washers but also said the washers aren't needed with the HD gears.

You only need the washers after the BHB pinion mod.

Or - if you're doing the 3-bearing mod

Did you have a problem with kingpins? I have 2 that won't stay in.
What's the solution.

T figure out why getting the pin in was so hard. Caught a couple videos and notice the cups were metal with no plastic. Took a drill bit the size of the o ring and drilled out the plastic. It actually pops out before hitting any metal. Nice groove and things went together very easily after that mod.

Hmm. Interesting. I'll have to give that a shot.

So that worked and I can start assembling again. Thanks very much.

Now the next issue. When putting the diff cover on the rear axle when I tighten it the diff starts to bind. It clicks instead of rotating smoothly. Only when I tighten the diff cover.

Gotta do something with the pinion gear. BHB or 3 bearing mod.

Is that for both the front and rear pinion? Probably will do the 3 bearing mod. Any benefit to doing both?

Thanks for the info.
