On my search in the past, I found a site that let me select the shims and pay for them only to find out the next day they really didnt have them in stock. I did get my money back. This site has them listed for about twice the price though. So maybe they do have them and are price gouging? I'd call first.

We got lucky this week, and found 2 packs of shims, so we are going to measure and do one axle tonight in preparation for the rest.

My questions is: are you guys doing this to the front and rear ends?

Speaking of shortage of shims.... Who would a guy contact to have some made? I mean, I've got metal fab shops all over around me. I just had headers cut and custom fit for my real car..... Having shims made can't be that difficult to accomplish..

Yes, if your using the HD spiral gears for both diffs. And the problem with the HD gears is the mesh in incorrect until you modify them. Then they are perfect.

Well, 12 total shims. 4 for 3rd bearing mod, and 9 to take the slack out between rear bearing and c clip.

There has got to be a washer or shim available outside the r/c car arena....

HD spiral I'm assuming are what comes in the kit? That's what we are using.

Yeah all the new kits have been coming with the new HD spiral gears for some time now. You can google pics for spiral vs straight gears to see the difference. Actually from looking at your pics you definitely have the new HD spiral gears.

We just ordered 36 off ebay. They say they'll be hear Friday. That would be cool if it happens, cause we got a bench of aluminum hot parts and summer is here. :shock:
