Default The Greatest mod

Wow guys .... I cant believe the Yeti XL is virtually indestructible after adding a center diff !! I have beat the hell out of this rig but its indestructible...No Joke !! I just cant find beadlocks or glued tires that will hold up ! I've even ran on 8s with NO Breaks !!!!!

I used plumbers putty in the center diff because its twice as soft as silly putty and twice as firm as 1,000,000

I dont build them so i can look at them...i build them for the rush

I'm ordering a TP-Power 8S 2200kv motor so i figured that I'll make HD CVS's

The Center diff mod is the best thing....ever.... no joke !!!
I'll have some insane footage on my channel soon !!!

Well as some of may remember a project that I started a little while back .

Project XL-T TWIN 2200 Dragster.

Till I round up enough cash for the 2nd ESC & 6S 5000 batteries, aluminum diff cups/GPM internals /GRP tires/ HD CVD conversion I'm gonna have to settle for one motor .

This is the Banshee XL

Thanks again Tphjill for the beautiful HR bulkhead/front & rear track bars !!

I made the center diff motor mount out of scrap aluminum with basic hand tools. Some of the parts in this build or generously donated by Tphjill !! I really appreciate and admire the generosity and that's why I'm excited for you guys to see what I have to give back to the community

I was able to re-use the existing transmission holes and add one in the battery trays for tying everything together.

I made this out of some scrap pieces of lexan as a debris deflector.

Got to have a Basher Bar to lock the front down !! Awesome mod !!! Perfect perch for shock tower supports

My ESC cooling fan mod

When you have so many builds going on that a $9 part doesn't make the budget you learn to improvise. This is a worn-out set of front output that were egged out. I simply cut them down the length and grind additional debt and use them as rear output.

For the front output I decided to use an MIP T-Maxx heavy duty output. Instead of using a pin I decided to make dimpled set screws.

I found these 20 millimeter Hub extenders and instead of using the set screw I decided to use a 25 millimeter screw that I ground down the head to help support the outer portion of the Hub

So the big question is shouldn't be a drag truck a pit basher or a trophy truck your guess is as good as mine cuz they all seem perfect.....

Holy cow man - you are the Grand Emperor Mad Scientist of the YXL! What's it like running that beast on 8S? On 6S it gets squirrelly (and crazy fun).

Ya I'd like to see 8s videos, plz.

Also, are you going to pick up the PL BL MX43 Pro-Loc? They barely balloon on 8s and the way the tires are molded to fit the beadlock rings, they won't pull out. Plus, the beadlocks are plastic.

Went to the pit with the Banshee XL and chewed up some Pinion bearings (NO PINION SHIELD) so it's time to try out the BHB BUSHING..

I'm sure some of you guys might find this excessive but I've actually blown out the screws that hold the diff cover on put the Bomber XL so now I drill it out for 16mm screws in all of my rigs..

Thanks ! It goes pretty good with the scaleisum that Axial brings to the table.. I guess that's why I like the YXL so much.. it's the only semi-scale rig of its size and power.

Oho and the BUSHING was a total FAIL ...It seemed to have smooth operation but the BUSHING caused the plastic axle to soften on 6s after 10 minutes..I think that it would work in a Crawler or aluminum axle ... My next attempt will be a two bearing , BUSHING spacer that allows recess for the hounch stock HD pinion.. I think that it will work but it's all in the testing to prove..

First undo the upper/lower links on housing side, so you can pull the housing out from truck. Then undo both screws on each side lock out and then pull the whole assembly out then you can undo the diff cover and pull the gears out.

Barharbor, do you have part numbers and/or a thread to make that HD CVS? I take it that's it working out for you? I think a lot of us moving up in power are gonna need to make those.

I'm ordering a TP-Power 8S 2200kv motor so i figured that I'll make HD CVS's

Would love to make a center diff! Don't plan and moving to 6s or 8s anytime soon but looks like fun. My son uses my truck, don't need that much speed. Hes also almost 4!
