Default Homemade adapters for Losi five-T wheels

What's up guys, new here but not to RC. I decided a few months ago to purchase the YXL after debating if it was worth it and up to hype. I have mixed feelings on it so far. The first thing that had to go was the ballooning tires, so I decided to go with the five-T wheels & tires. The only adapters I could find were the ones from HPI and they are in backorder EVERYWHERE. I decided to make my own since I have the machinery. I'm no expert machinist, more like a hobby machinist and part-time gunsmith. I made these adapters that are spec'd to the five-T hub's dimensions with the +5mm offset. These have a 8mm hole that fit the axle perfectly and I ordered some longer cross pins to hold the hub more securely(in my opinion). They worked perfectly and the five-T wheel/tire combo works so much better. Another thing I don't like about the YXL is the transmission and lack of center diff. I plan on making an adapter to swap in a center diff setup from an Associated RC8 to have beefier gears and a diff instead of the smaller (and weaker) 3 gear transmission.

The center diff makes the xl so fun without the carnage! My biggest problem was keeping the tires beaded!

That is the next big improvement I have planned for it. I know my SC8 has taken repeated abuse on 6S power and the bearings were usually the things that gave up. So I'm confident a RC8 center diff will hold up. I've been looking at making some bypass style pistons for the rear shocks to help with the bounce along with one piece shock body & cap I've been sketching up.

You think you can turn one spec'd to 14mm, I'm just beginning to find out how to work a mini lathe and mill and just blew a lot more on cutters, end mills and attachments only to find out I need an indexer too. Trying to do it without an indexer and its taking a really long process, RC4WD makes one but its a little short on the front and a bit of slack on the back, please lemme know if you maybe interested.

Yea I could make some. They were pretty easy to make. Just PM me your specs and we can work something out. I got some advice from an old school machinist when I first got my machinery. He told me i would end up spending as much or more on all my cutting, setup, and measuring tools as I spent on my machinery if I was going to be successful. So far he has been spot on. Also a good dividing head does wonders.

Yes it does, I'm actually looking into how rotary tables w/o dividing heads/plates work. Hopefully I can afford them on or before Christmas.
