Default another New Yeti xl owner...few questions

so, only running 3s (MMx/2200kv stock gearing) since I ran out of connectors to use/make a series adapter; but with all the horror stories, how many packs before breaking it open and checking bearings, gear mesh, wear, etc. I will have 4s this week sometime and have no plans to 6s until some AL stuff comes in; if ever.

the steering seems to "click" at the end of the throw, like it is smooth through the range until the very end then sort of "pops" at full lock

how much drag is normal? this is my first 1/8 but seems like when i get off the throttle on the 1/10 stuff we run, they kind of coast smoothly a big more than this tank does.

oh, and the instructions for the kit are basically an exploded parts diagram, definitely fun to build but not easy to follow in the correct steps. That being said, I do have quite a few more extra pieces than normally after a buld, rear link stiffeners (not listed in book, a servo saver not listed, some plastic little washers, etc. did we miss something? had my teen helping!

Congrats on the build. I want to see pictures. The steering I am not sure. It should not click. I would check the top plate, that its screwed down evenly, disconnect the servo horn and see if its any better or if you can isolate were its hitting. Check that the servo rod is not hitting the top plate. You might need to add a spacer under the servo arm like I did on mine. Some servo arms don't have a spacer built into them.

Thx, I’ll check for that spacer...strange thing is it seemed to do it before I had the servo hooked up, like just when moving the steering through it’s range after mounting the front clip.
Might have tightened something uneven, I’ll look into that as well.

No clue how to post pics or I would be happy to!

I ran 4s and while I did wreck some diffs, I feel it was mainly from driving the wrong way with it. Using it on the trails was where I had the best luck with it.

quick update, been running 4s on dirt trails and its a blast...admittedly driving a little timid since I do not have a LHS for parts and I really don't feel like breaking it down too replace parts!
