Nice. I love the idea of an RTR teardown review. My only comment at this point is this is a great example of the lack of consistency in the application of "scale". Don't get me wrong, all the vehicles are cool in their own right and I own most of the ones pictured. Not so maddening in this part of RC but more so in the racing world. The worst example is an 8th scale rig E buggy being the same size as a 10th scale pro4.

Pretty well, and with really heavy diff grease or a spool up front it will do even better. Guess someone needs to make a spool or limited slip design

A Detroit Locker type of diff would be awesome. I know more than handful of people here that can make these parts if they put their minds to it.

Come on guys, don't wait for Vanquish, get to work and get that money for yourself

do a little searching !!
Blue Monkey RC already makes a EXO front locker/spool,
were using them in the Wraith IFS conversion's.
this locker/spool should work in the Yeti !
if for some reasion the one he has now doesn't work,
BM/RC will have one that will fit the Yeti - soon !!

That spool worked great in my BMRC conversion. Very strong and had no issues with it.

Locked front diff? Terrible for GoFast cornering. Heavy diff juice more better.
Two speed tranny? Don't need. But I'll most likely do it cause I can. Want to crawl? Put in a good sensored motor and esc.

If you overdrive the front end, you'll have all the steering you'll need. If you don't completely lock the front, don't even bother showing up at the track

For what it is worth. I won the first series championship in 1.9 comp with an open front diff, and heavy fluid. I plan on doing the same with my Yeti.

Let's play 8 scale buggies for $. You lock your front end.

yes most know a open diff will steer better than a locked diff !
this will be the case for the yeti - put a locker in it - U will louse steering.

but - we have that option now !

go fast - open diff with 50000 to 100000W or more diff fluid,
best steering the rig can get !

more of a crawler type rig - locked diff,
less steering !

i never liked to run different ratios - front to rear on a fast/high powered rig.
seemed way to hard on the drive line - when the rig hooked up !
IMO

I understand...BUT, if the track is set up correctly, there's no f'n way an open diff...and I don't care what kind of oil you're running...would have a ghost of a chance on!

You wouldn't even finish a single lap with an 8 scale buggy on a properly set up U4 track...this isn't and shouldn't be confused with sc racing

another thing that may be needed in the open diff front end !
I've been thru a few of the stock plastic diff cases now - (big motor/batteries)
this might be a must have part ! - couldn't hurt !

Now
more pics Badger !

please
