| SteveC6R's "Hell Yeti" CAPTURED! First off just let me say that I don't have one yet, I'm like most everyone else and it's pre-ordered and I'm waiting. But that hasn't stopped me from collecting all the parts I want to install on it. This is my first build thread on RCC and let me add I'm not like a lot of these guys, I don't have mad skills or anything, just a regular guy that enjoys scale crawlers. I have learned a ton from reading and researching the threads on this forum from guys like Harley, Carter Fab, Badger and a ton of others. This is a great place and I appreciate all the users that post useful information for the regualr guys like myself. Last edited by SteveC6R; 09-06-2014 at 11:15 PM. |

Looking good Steve!! Can't wait to watch your build come together. It is truly amazing what can be picked up and applied to a personal build just by following along a build thread like this and others.

| Re: SteveC6R's "Hell Yeti" Be sure to use the headlight masks included with the clear body. When your Yeti shows up the molded headlight buckets are included in the spare parts bag and look killer behind the clear body |

Damn it, if only you'd been about an hour earlier and told me that....it never even crossed my mind to do that but I do plan on using the headlight buckets. I will have to do that on the next body. (Banging head on wall ) |

Thread looks great Steve. I got my clear body from Tower yesterday. I will be using the light buckets on it. Tower also sells the front and rear inserts kit part # LXEHBT for $12.99 which gives all that I need to complete the shell. I also have a FreaqEskinz ordered for the Yeti stock body. This gives me the option to swap the body to a different color in minuets with only a few screws. |

This has all been covered before but Axial did their homework on this rig. The body flipping up for easy access to the battery is just kick ass. Lots of nice details. With that said now comes the fun part, tearing it apart and building it my way. |

I got some of the electronics installed including the servo. Like many RC vehicles, the steering is a weak spot on the rig especially with a high torque servo. I believe Haley touched on it and I know that he has the VP prototype steering rack installed in his rig but that will be a must have upgrade IMO. The steering would probably be fine with the stock servo but once you put some torque to it the plastic pieces start showing their weaknesses. First thing I had happen was to tear the rod end off the steering linkage. Replaced that and installed a Revo steel ball in it instead of the plastic one and set the end points, seems all good now.
