Im not sure if I installed something wrong when i switched my servo or not but the yeti seems to have very little steering. Im just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

Have you tried adjusting your dual rate setting on your controller? Mine was like that too out of the box, a little adjustment and voila full steering.

Yes I think this is going to be a common complaint very quickly. The decision to make the posts that the bellcranks sit on plastic with plastic bushings was a big mistake. I think the servo probably has enough power to move the wheels precisely, but the system itself lets it down. The dual sheer rack is an improvement from the old flat EXO rack since it doesn't allow the rack itself to rotate up into the drive shaft at full lock. Its just the system has too much give when you combine the soft servo saver spring and those plastic rods.

I haven't taken mine on anything technical yet just some loose Texas powder drifting and thrashing with a few rock piles in my subdivision where there building new houses. It seemed great for that. I did however install Vanquish's dual sheer steering pins with bearings, not sure if that really helped as I didn't run it stock. Tomorrow I hope to find some washed out creek beds to bash in.

Can't you just pop out the plastic bushings and replace them with ball bearings? It won't fix the flex in the bellcranks, but it should at least reduce binding. Anyway, the steering links on the Wraith and other similar vehicles have tons of flex too, so it's not like this is a new and unexpected problem. |

Carter Fab was able to just install some 5x8 bearings in his bellcranks without any issues. I plan to do the same today.

Well for links I know the Slash rods fit the EXO and Yeti front end and you can usually pick up a set for around $10 on eBay. It also looks like the original EXO steel steering posts may fit, but I'm uncertain since the manual doesn't say. Honestly though I'd buy the VP posts because the Axial set runs $13 without bearings, the VA set runs $17 with bearings and we know it fits. |

Remove your servo saver spring and stretch it about 1/4". Tightens up everything. With the addition of VP steering rack, my chit is 75% better. Spring is strong, but try 2 large flathead screwdrivers and spread the coils, gently, trying not to offset spring. Little at a time, and read Harley's thread on this subject. |
