| I think I found gold!! Perfect 550 motor fit for yeti
So after weeks of researching different motors and not being able to find a low Kv 550 motor for my axial yeti that didn't require modifications to install and wasn't ridiculous in price I paid 70 bucks for this beauty....I finally found a perfect fit...this motor is a 550 short course and requires no modifications for the axial yeti...I'm not sure about this motor but it is....2/3s sensored, low KV 2500, 4 pole, seems pretty waterproof except for sensor wire....it measures a perfect 63.5mm length just barley hits the battery tray and the sensor wire goes underneath the tray perfectly...I don't know about the performance but I'm gearing up cause of the low Kv hoping to run a nice cool setup.... |

I have the 3000KV version. Runs the same as my 3000KV Pro4HD. You could probably run 4S on the 2500kv with no problems whatsoever. |

Ohh nice? Is it a good motor? any issues? This is kind of my first build so I didn't wanna go out and spend a ton on a name brand...I'm an electrician and to me the build quailty seems pretty good...I'm pretty sure all the name brand stuff is built from similar manufactures and not much better quality but that's just from observation...I'm thinking with a good ESC, this thing should run pretty good...and yes I think it is rated up to 4s under 3000kv 👍👌

Not sure who makes the motor but the sky 2350 1/8 scale motor is identical to the turnigy motor I bought. It's 68mm long so it would require modifications to fit though.

I know rc juice is an official dealer of the sky rc product line. This is a a Sky RC motor and that's kind of my point there's no modifications to install it....I wanted something that was 550 and low KV that would fit the YETI with NO mods. His was the best fit I could find and there's 5 models in that line that are 3000kv or less 👍👌

FYI 68mm is the maximum length you can fit without modifying the battery tray. I know this because I run a 68mm length motor in my yeti and didn't have to modify the battery tray.

What kind of motor do you run? Is it sensored? Kingy??? you say you fit a 68mm but, here in these photos my motor almost touches the gearbox?? Mines 63.5??? How did u accomplish that?? It's probably a smaller can. Mines a larger can. Last edited by THX_138; 07-24-2016 at 10:00 PM. |

Nope, larger can than you actually, hobbywing 4168 2250kv Old pic, but shows the motor at least. |

It looks crooked, Or something but it's not laying on the gearbox? Creating heat or binding the gears? is it sensored???

Crooked? I assure you its not. No binding either, but I'm not sure why you would think it would? It's sensorless, depending on the motor though there is room for a sensor port, so long as it's at the bottom of the motor (for example, the sensored version of this exact motor). |

Took a better photo, as you can see there is still a tiny gap between the motor and the battery tray |

Ok so yea from what I found there isn't a 550 sensored motor that will fit in the yeti, I guess a 68mm will fit but you can't find a sensored motor that size the sensor adds length to it....I wanna see a 68 mm sensored motor that will fit then I am proven wrong

| Re: I think I found gold!! Perfect 550 motor fit for yeti HOBBYWING North America — XERUN Sensored Brushless 4068SD Motor for 1/8 Car (Black) off the top of my head. also, the two most common sensored motors people run in the yeti are 550 cans; tekin pro4hd and holmes puller pro 540xl. The hobbywing xerun 3656 motors would fit just fine too. as would the hobbyking trackstar 550 series. in fact, pretty close to any "standard" 550 motor will fit just fine. I know the novak ballistic 4.5t 550 out of my 4wd sc wont fit however, as its 72mm long. |

Hi camaro tom.... I'm pretty sure it's similar to the tekin pro without the price tag...performance wise so I've been told... I'm pretty sure this motor performs the same as the tekin pro from what I understand...I wanna say similar manufactures without the large price tag 👍👌 Last edited by THX_138; 07-24-2016 at 10:03 PM. |

| Re: I think I found gold!! Perfect 550 motor fit for yeti I went with the Tekin Pro4 HD based off your love for the motor, Tom. I'm running the 3500Kv on 3S and it has more than enough power and is 2.2oz. lighter than the Holmes motors. Maybe the 540XL makes a little more power, but who cares if the driveline can't handle it. My Pro4 HD has more than enough power to trash my beast setup if I let it. I'm running a 7200mah pack and my truck is lighter than if I ran a 5000mah pack with the Holmes motor. I do have a huge fan, but I cannot get my motor even hot if I try and it's geared to run a little over 45mph. Great motor! Glad I went with it.
