Doesn't laying your front shock down that much make the front end very stiff?

no actually makes the shock more progressive in feeling. soft to start and gradually getting stiffer as the suspension is compressed.

I race w this and crawl( well trail and some crawl) and I personally like the feel of this position better. Didn't have to buy any new springs just some 40wt and the position change. It runs very well as far as suspension goes. Today I ran a good 8000mah through it and the ssd axle is awesome.... Except for no skid option and it acts like a hook half the time . Need to fab something wow. Performance wise it was great. Vanquish locker went in today too. Not happy the two shaft flats don't get very close in the center, which is where the locker set screws are!!!! So half a set screw each is contacting causing a bit of a bind when rotating. Only snugged and using loctite. I like the bigger pinion bearings.

SSD makes a skid that goes over the 3rd member. SSD Skid for Diamond Axle

Finally from the date of the last post till today is how long it took for them to get in stock at rpp and then 2 days to me. I'm mostly irked that it cost me another $18 on top of the $114 for the axle. It's something that should come with it or been already molded in. It's an anchor without it.

The rig is turning out nice. Yeah the skid definitely should have been included. The other thing that bothers me about the SSD axle is the skid plate doesn't cover the bottom like the Currie's. If I spent that much on a rock crawling axle I'd want the bottom protected.

I'm thinking about a steel jockstrap. Simple and put a longish 3mm button head through the delrin. Steel because aluminum gouges and catches too easy. Will post later today when I get it done. I've got some sheet metal, shears, hammer, anvil, drill press, and a bit of time.

It's a different design. A skid covering the bottom would hang up on everything. Even the new vp F9 Currie doesn't have a skid.

After an hour or better. Galvanized sheet metal toolbox drawer divider lol. It's not professional but protective. Maybe with enough smacks on the trails it'll form itself the rest of the way.

Meh I don't care my poor thread hasn't got the most traffic. Well everyone does like likes a little bit lol. My yeti playing along with a group. Fun tires on.

Hehe. Good mileage to that faraway crawl spot.
Edit-- lol that's not a yeti on the back of my bike there I notice. But yeti rides the same way.

SSD axle is awesome, but you definitely will need to go ahead and order the HD axles with it. Bending the stock axle is only a matter of time.

Looks good. Though Is it better to get the on center pumpkin vice the stock off center? Noob here!

For this truck the centered is best. It aligns the trans output straight to the rear axle that way. And it's more racing and faster marketed so the clearance of an offset pumpkin means nothing.

Huh. Thank you. I'll look at that when it breaks. Not touching anything until I break it!

I haven't ran this yet. I don't know if I like going back to different offset hub for the rears. But it sure does look good on there.
