Default Gearing

I am new to the rc world and bought a yeti. It gets really hot. Is it just gearing, how do I go about cooling it down. And what do I need to buy to do so. Thanks for any help.

Castle link, upgrade firmware and try again. After that, try adjusting pinion to liking.

I dropped down to a 13t pinion. After 45 minutes of hard running everything is cool.

I lost a little top end, but it doesn't bother me. Better "crawling" as well.

$8 upgrade!

I took out the interior to let more air in and it helped a ton. I also have some fans coming for the esc and motor to be on the safe side. I'd rather spend 20 on fans then buy a MMP and Pro4 ....for now

I am geared to 14/62 now and also cut a hole in the hood where the fake ram air scoop deal is. Is better but also is a lot cooler out in Wyoming this last week too.

I first tried running just 12t pinion and it seemed abot 3/4 as fast as stock, then last night I put 13/43 gears in the differentials and it feels abot 2/3 as fast as stock now, I've only had it thermal one time so far.

I updated the Firmware, Added CC cooling fans to the motor and esc. Got rid of the Krawler tires and installed Badlands. No Thermals geared 20/64. Running on 3s. IMO this truck RTR is not meant to crawl. Its much happier as what it was meant to be. The ESC is just to weak to crawl. I do have the MMP waiting to go in. But I wanna see how long the AE-3 can hold up with my driving style.

Removed interior and geared up to 20t pinion. Motor sees max 130* on 2s after hard lapping on clay track for 8-10 min. Now running 3s and havent seen much over 130* as well but havent had it on the same clay track with 3s
