Default Axial Yeti on 4300kv?

Is anyone out there running the Yeti on a Tekin Pro4 HD 4300kv motor?

I am looking for feedback on how it runs with this combo. I don't want to run 3s, want to stay 2s. Thinking the 4300kv will give me all the speed I want but still be able to crawl with the sensored setup with a MMP ESC. Would like my Yeti to be able to do both speed and crawl.

Any feedback/videos/pictures would be appreciated.

It'll be a good motor for 2S only. Speed wise it'll be closer to the stock Vanguard on 3S, I you should have good speed and good low end all in one. I'd recommend the RX8 Gen2 ESC, you can really dial it in to suit your liking.

I'm running the 3300 pro4 in mine and like it so far. Stock gearing. I have the 4300 In my wraith. I'm running my yeti on 2s. Plenty fast and still crawls great.

I am running the Pro4 HD 4300 with the RX8 Gen2 and its awesome to me. I put a 13 tooth pinion in it as well as Heavy duty underdrive gears in the front and rear axles. I have so much stuff for 2s and batteries I did not want to buy a bunch of 3s...

Default Axial Yeti on 4300kv?

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like the 4300kv would be great for the 2s. Also sounds like I will be able to go with a lot of different gearing combos to get the speed I want and still have the ability to crawl.

I too have all my other vehicles setup for 2s so don't feel like going 3s for this vehicle.

Sounds like you guys prefer the RX8. I was going to get the Mmp because I already own the castle link. These are both great ESC's probably can't go wrong with either.

3,300kv in my mind is the best compromise of speed/torque/battery power.

I run a sensored setup with this KV, and with long gearing it works great for slow moving control. But with short gearing etc, itd be perfect for the yeti.

RX8 is nice, but expensive is its only downfall.

I run MMP's, good speedos and work just fine with Tekin motors, they do lack a few of the more race oriented programming.

3300KV? Thats the old Pro4, not the HD. The HD is a better choice for the Yeti or Wraith vehicles in the end. Not to say the Pro4 is bad.

On 2S, the 3300 will be slow IMO.

Look in the classified, lots of rc racers selling their setups now that lots of clubs have finished their summer seasons. I just picked up another rx8 gen 2 with another pro4HD 4300 for 175$.

Why not run a 3S in the ProdHD? Will it blow?

Nope, lots of people have 2S already - for RC racing. Racing you get 2S or nothing, mod refers to unlimited motor not voltage.

Why would folks who race use 2S when 3S will give you more juice?

So you can run a 3S with a TPHD then, good to know.

Because they have it already.

The whole 2s, 3s and 4s thing is so misunderstood. I can lap with 1/8 buggy that run 4s with my SCT on 2s, why? Because they have twice the current but half the engine max rpm, I have half the current but twice the engine rpm. In the end, at the wheel, it feels very similar.

Now if you disregard the mfg recommended battery for a motor and run 4s on a 3s or even 2s engine, it will haul ass for sure, but I bet it won't do it for long.

U4 racing is not all about speed you still need to learn to drive the track

Because those are the Roar rules for racing in many classes.

Yup, a great driver with a 1S could beat many who think top speed matters. It's about momentum and keeping things tires down.

More cells with lower KV means less stress on the electronics including the battery. My race SCT with a 4300kv on 2 cells comes off the track pretty toasty. A 3000kv on 3 cells would be more efficient but roar rules doesn't allow it.
