Default From Axial: YETI Hub Update

Looks like Axial has made a running change to the YETI SLW style hubs and now have an update kit with pins and hexes! Great job guys!

"We are very excited about our latest release, the AX90026 Yeti 1/10th scale RTR. Axial recognizes that some customers have had issues with their rear wheel hubs part number AX80128. If you have experienced this issue, please contact Axial Customer Service for a 12mm Hex Conversion Service Pack, part number AX31074."

I bet it finds its way onto more Axial vehicles! And people complain Axial doesn't listen to its customer base...I see this as being on the ball with a design issue. Takes time to re-design and manufacture new parts this was pretty quick!

Same bad hub design was used on the PS wraith so the redesign may not have happened as quick as it appears. It's a step in the right direction for sure though.

I guess I overlooked that but I hadn't seen a bunch of posts about them. Maybe because the PS Wraith is slower, brushed and people were bashing it quite like a U4 style rig?

Let us Yeti users rejoice we got it so quick at least.

I'll be contacting for a kit - even lighter wheels/tires for my CI 6 Bolts.

Yep, if the plastic wheel hexes hold up it will be the lightest option with CI 6 bolts.

That's a good point! Besides fixing something broken on one truck, axial has potentially made something many other vehicles can use!

Figures, I just ordered the Vanquish hub kit today. I may have to sell it, or return it, and put money towards something else lol. Just got my Yeti last night, and let my wife and son drive it before the rear hubs stripped after about 10 minutes of use.

This is great news! While I haven't had much chance to put mine into the rough stuff yet, the thought that they could strip out on me has been a bit of a concern. Good to know that Axial will have my back if they do.

I have to admit that this is the first time in 20+ years of being in the hobby that I have seen a manufacturer do this. Freakin Awesome.

Losi did it on the comp crawler with both the worm spools and CVD front axle shafts. they didnt get the axle shafts right the first time, they made a V2 cvd axle shaft and sent it out at no cost. those were found to be weak too, and then they got it right on the 3rd try and now label them as the HD shafts. I got those and corrected spools as well. they sent me all of the revised parts in a timely manor.

It would seem I'll take anything I can to get the new hubs in, if the kit includes the pins and hexes, cool, if no that's fine by me. I have everything fixed, just hope these super light hubs will hold up to some beatings.
