The journey to completion was long... but well enjoyed.

Made my own 1" cans for the VP's since nobody had any in stock...

Stock foams and VP's (Left) CI Deuces Wild on the wider cans (Right)

Blue monkey locker with traxxas CVD's (Defiantly not a bolt on)

Had to make some custom spacers to take the slop out of the hub since the hub pin on the Traxxas CVD's wasn't in the same spot as the stock Axial pin (2.5mm I think).

Dual rate springs I had laying around...

Blue Monkey trailing arms installed

Winch... why not?

Still not sure how I broke this...

I think she is nearly done... for now atleast

Looks great. I have the same setup as you in the front end. wondering if you machined your stubs back .032" as suggested by blue monkey? I ended up taking nearly .052" off as it would push the outter bearing out of the seat. As for the pin location all mine needed was the fiber/Teflon washers like Traxxas uses on their RTR cars to take any slop out.

Instead of machining the stubs I made the washer/shim and put it between the inner bearing and the knuckle. (have a pic above of one installed) After putting it in, everything was nice and snug. (previously my wheels were slopping back and forth)

I used the mip shafts with mine and let me tell ya they didn't even need milling even though I still did then kicked myself in the ass...

I am surprised to see you blew apart one of the TRX CVD's I have been using them on an slash 4x4 jacked up on roids and havent broke one yet. Must have really had the truck in a tough spot to manage that. Other than that. Good looking rig you got there. I think it looks awesome with the color scheme you have going on.

Ya, I was surprised to break one myself... I was driving it in my driveway when I noticed it, not sure if that's when it broke though. Luckily they do sell replacement output shafts ($9)

So after running the Yeti through a few packs last weekend I bent both traxxas front CV's so I went ahead and installed the MIP's.

Used a reamer to clearance out the knuckles some, also went ahead and did a little bit of dremel work to the carriers to get a tiny bit more steering travel.

Overall I'm feeling pretty good about the outcome.

Question... Are the Yeti and Exo front bumpers exchangeable? Is the bottom mount for the bumper the same? Thanks

The bumper wasn't a direct fit... I had to trim a tiny bit of plastic to get the lower to bolt up. Pretty straight forward and easy to do though.

On your strc carries did you have any problems with it being tight on the knuckles cause mine are tight so it makes the steering hard and ive have no ideal why its like that ive asked a couple other guys if they had the problem they said no?

Same problem on my rig. I used a sanding drum in the Dremel on the back of my VP knuckles. Easier to access. Basically I removed the anodizing and gave it a once over with a sanding stick to remove and burrs. Fits perfect. Were only talking a few thousandths worth of interference.

So I spent some time with the Yeti locked front and rear... So matter what I installed, modified, or purchased, the Yeti just doesn't crawl like my solid axle rigs.

So I made some changes:

I pulled the winch off and Installed the original bumper
Remade my body panels and cut the hood off the stock body.

Unlocked the front and took the MIP's off
Installed the Axial universals and a GCM diff cup w/HPI gears and 500K fluid

Pulled the prolines and put on traxxas big bores with an old spring from my road car up top.

Got a little crazy and put Yeti XL shocks on the rear (used the two softest short springs from the kit)

Pulled the VP wheels and CI DW foams
Made some custom two-stage foams and mounted them on CI wheels.

Installed a VP centered currie axle (makes the car launch so much better)

Overall:
The Yeti just isn't that great at crawling... BUT it is great for high speed bashing/racing!
