Default Programming

I purchased the Castle interface to hook up to the esc. Ive hooked it up downloaded the new firmware and upgraded the esc so for. Being relatively new my question is basically what should the settings be or what do I look for that needs tweeking etc. Is there recommendations or is it personal preference or just something I need to mess with.

Definitely something you need to play around with!

I changed my drag brake to 40
Put the forward power level and 100 off the line. Factory there is a small delay from when you go wide open until the car actually goes full speed.
And I set reverse delay to 0. I wanted reverse right away even with rolling forward... Oh I set reverse power to 80...

Eddy's setup is quite normal. Watch out for the drag brake setting. This can destroy your drivetrain. Going from Mach 2 to zero. Personaly that number is bigger than the rest as it can change your driving experience for that day.

I was concerned with the insta-braking the drag provides so I stayed somewhat conservative...

Everybody has different opinions on set up. What ever your application or use will be is going to dictate how you set it up.

I use mine as an U4 type rig. Any drag brake is going to nose it down quicker on jumps and into corners at speed, I have mine set at 10% just because. Anything less than 100% is not going to hold the rig in a crawling situation so no need to set it really.

Instant reverse will cause you big drive train problems if you're using it to race or bash, I suggest fwd, brk, rev w/delay. Also if you're doing any light rock crawling, go into advance settings and change the motor timing from factory +10 degrees to 0, it will help eliminate some of the low speed cogging, not totally but noticeably.

These are just personal suggestions "not the law". Others will chime in with their setups and it will be up to you to figure out what's best for you.

I have my drag break at 0%
Reverse at 50%
Reverse with delay, i like to have break at high speeds
Timing to Zero
Punch to 60%

I appreciate all the input. I will take it out and drive it first after the firmware upgrade to see if there is any difference then I will start with some of the settings you have recommended and see how it goes from there.
