| silly puddy in ft diff????
noob question!!!!! where would one put "silly puddy" in the front diff?? just open the case and fill it with puddy, or packed somewhere else, also will it hold up to the high speed bashing my yeti loves???? never knew sill puddy was a "thick lube" and would also protect my gears. |

Most people use that when their wanting to lock the front diff gears. Try a thicker lube if your not wanting to lock it entirely.

I think it's supposed to "lock" the diff gears so that the front axle is locked and not independent. Basically the silly puddy is jammed in the front diff where the spider gears are so that they don't spin independent but the whole axle spins in one direction(like a Wraith)...it's basically a cheap alternative to buying a locker spool. If you're bashing more than crawling I'd probably not go that route...instead use a 500k diff oil.

It's supposed to "lock" the diff but still have enough give to avoid busting axles when bashing.

independent front suspension (IFS) makes a left wheel move op and down without influencing the right wheel (and vice versa). Found under the Exo and Yeti (front) A 'solid axle' is the opposit of IFS (and not related to the state of the diff). These are found under the Wraith and yeti(Rear). so I like basing around at mostly high speed with my yeti, but crawling a little here and there, should I try heavy weight oil or silly puddy, or an actual ft locker, I know I ll loose some sterring, but will it hold up to me hauling a#% on 3s eveyewere.

I've used silly putty on two axial yeti's with good results. If your curious about where to put it reference my build thread Dasco's Yeti 2.0 |

If all you're going to do is crawl then locking it entirely is an option. If you want to race or general bash, then avoid locking it. The consensus from the experienced guys on this forum as been 500k wt diff oil. I've done this myself and it's great. |

| Re: silly puddy in ft diff???? I'm guessing this fluid effectively creates a limited slip diff? And that's what we're achter, right?
