Default The Holmes Puller Pro BL 540XL 3500kv the YETI Grail?

Holmes Hobbies LLC

I just pulled the trigger and ordered a Holmes Puller Pro BL 540XL 3500kv motor, the specs make it look very promising for the Yeti. I understand there are a few pre production prototypes floating around out there and now that it's been officially released it would be interesting to hear about your experiences with this motor. Let's hear your thoughts about this new motor option?

Well I have much love for HH, I ran the living crap out of my little cobalt puller and someday I'll send it back to them to have it rebuilt so I can do it again! Also love his esc, that thing was a tank and ate 4s for breakfast...lol. Point being here, is I want to read these reviews too, because anything that is not just another Tekin, that is as good as or better than a Tekin is high on my to get list!

I am eyeballing this as well. Let me know how you like it. What ESC you plan on running with it?

I'll be running the MMP, I bought it from him as a combo, pretty good buy done that way.

I received my new Holmes puller pro motor and installed it, I've only ran it around inside the house a little deu to snow but I'm impressed by the low end control so far. I'm very excited to take it out and stretch its legs soon.

Man I can't wait! I got my finger on the trigger of this same combo so I'm just waiting for some conformation on how it works

Not to get offtrack here, but I was thinking of running an 8.5/MMP in mine. Since it has nearly twice the kV I'm wondering if it might be too much? It really hauled ass in my old Wheely King!

I like that this motor is waterproof. Sealed Can with conformally coated sensor board. I have a brand new Tekin pro4 HD 3000kv that is going up for sale to purchase this motor.

Well guys, while I have been waiting on some "real" world feed back on this
set-up, I have been loitering around the Holmes Motors site. You know, reading up on the specs, looking at pictures, checking options, drooling etc. So after a bit, I decided to question them directly on how they felt this motor compares to the Tekin 3000kv HD motor.. Here is the reply I got:

Quote:
The Pro4? The Puller Pro is a lot more motor. External dimensions are about the same, but the Puller Pro stator is much more significant, and the rotor/magnet extends farther. More speed, more power, more torque.

Thanks,

Jonathan
Just some more food for thought!

it looks identical to the tenshock sc411 3500kv I just put in my yeti today. It is a monster ! It crawls and hauls ass. I'd say the HH is a good buy.

I just got finished running two 2650mAh packs through the Yeti and I am very happy with my purchase. It really opened up the Yeti's capabilities it crawls and screams now, backflips are just a trigger pull away! If you're on the fence about this motor I say go for it.

I just placed an order for the MMP and the Puller Pro from Holmes. I wasn't 'unhappy' with the Vanguard system, just craving more torque. Sounds like this setup offers more everything.

Can't beat Holmes combo package and services. Shoot, waterproofing and soldering for minimal fee...I'll take it. Heck they throw in the soldering when you get the combo package. Good stuff.

Yepper I concur! I think given what I already know about Holmes, the extraordinary performance Ive gotten from my former purchases from them and the new testimonials...come payday there will be a new brushless Holmes combo in my basket!

You guys going to run 2s or 3s? I would like a little more speed out of my Yeti (already running 17/60), didn't know how the HH Puller liked 3s. Would be great to get good speed an a little bit of low end control on the cheap.
