RX/Tx? What are you guys running? Just waiting on electronics to show up before my kit is done. I have an extra Axial RX/Tx out of a yeti, but think I want something better. What do you guys suggest? |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? Well, someone's gonna say Flysky and someone else's gonna say Futaba and someone's gonna say Spectrum and someone else'll say Airtonics MT-4s. I chose the latter. |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? I have been running stock one. |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? I'll be the guy that says Futaba, 3PMX here. "thumbsup" |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? Futaba 4PLS. |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? Futaba 4pks |

Futaba 4px for 1/5 scale, Futaba 3pmx for scx10 Cheap hpi 2 channel, and a cheapo Spektrum for my kids crawlers |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? Personally, I'm a big fan of Futaba systems, and I'm using a Futaba 4PX (major overkill) If you plan on using lights and/or a winch, and plan on binding more than one RC to the radio, I'd suggest spending some extra coin and getting a mid-range radio (4PL, MT-4, Lynx). Plenty of channels to setup lights and/or a winch, and you can bind to multiple vehicles. |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? Futaba 4PLS i use it on my Yeti, SCX10, and my drifter. My only complaint is that i wish it had a lanyard hook, so i installed my own. |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? On my SCX10 Jeep I'm running the Axial Tx/Rx. On my Yeti I have. Spektrum DX3R DSM2 and 3100 Rx. I know Spektrum has had its detractors but I currently run five other RCs with it. Some time this year I will be purchasing a Futaba system. Just need to allocate $$$ to it. |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? If you go with a good radio, choose wisely... You'll be "stuck" with that brand as your fleet grows. My first fully programmable radio was a Spektrum so that's what I'm still using. Having a dozen rx's or so makes it impossible to switch. :ror: I haven't had any problems with this brand. Current radio is a DX3C but they have the DX4C out now which is 4 channels for like $130 or so. Hell of a deal, I'll get it eventually. |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? i love my flysky gt3c. ultra light pistol with lipo and with firmware hack 8CH ability and fully programmable, with some three way switches for winch and so on... for 12$ |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? I also use a hacked flysky. Haven't found anything I needed to do that it couldn't do. My only con is it can be confusing to program some things once it's hacked but theres the awesome people on here to help with that |

That all said, I may have went airtronics if I could start again. I used a buddies a year ago or so and I really loved it, but I'd be hard pressed to say it was any better...but we were bashing and I doubt that is where any real differences would show anyway. Oh and +1 to all who mentioned multi channel capable as that should certainly be a factor in any brand you choose. JMHO |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? Thanks everybody! I got a great buy on a Spektrum DX4C. A good friend of mine bought it for a project, but needed some money. I'll see how I like it and decide wether to keep looking. |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? Spektrum as well, started off buying RTR's getting back into the hobby so too many receivers to swap over now. I have 2 of the DX4C's and they have not given me any problems at all, my only complaint is the foam on the wheel keeps slipping back and I have to keep pulling it forward. |

Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? I'm waiting on my MT4S to come also. I got the 40th anniversary edition that comes with 2 receivers. I'm gonna swap out the stock radio on my RTR. |
Re: RX/Tx? What are you guys running? I picked up a cheap 3PRKA, it was basically free from Tower after my discount code. I can still use the receiver with my 3PL or a 4PLS when I get around to buying one. |
