| Racing the YETI.
This is not a discussion on weather or not it is a good track racer. I'm well aware of its "limitations" but we wont be looking at its downfalls only what can be changed to perform better on my track. I'm looking for pin type tires (traditional buggy tires) that measure 5.2-5.5in x 1.8-2in x 2.2in. Any suggestions? |

Are you racing against other Yeti's? A bunch of us used to get together to race our EXO's and it was cool to see a bunch of those on the track, would be even cooler with a bunch of Yeti's. Going to be hard to find that tire size in a pin type as there isn't a legit class. Proline Racing has these: Pro-Line Gladiator 2.8" Tires 10102 for 1:10 Truck Jconcepts has these: https://www.jconcepts.net/shop/choppers-28-wheel Probably will be a tad bit smaller than the 2.2 BFG's but shouldn't look too bad. I ran some Proline 2.8 Badlands on mine a couple times it it worked good. Last edited by stonecold; 04-21-2015 at 11:24 AM. |

I would think that it would be a terrible rig to race over dirt at speed. It doesn't have much stability. Differentials are your friend when racing on a solid surface.

It goes up against a Custom ESlayer that was a previous build and sold. The problem is that when I sold it, it was set up PERFECT for the track we race on and I'm starting over from scratch.

A solid axle truck races PERFECTLY fine and I don't get why people say they don't. Do you mean that YOU can't drive the yeti at high speed on a track? Because I do it just fine.

I have looked at OTTSIX but those won't fit my need.

I haven't tried the 2.2 but the 3.8 will not hook up the way I'm looking for. It appears the compound is to hard and the lugs are to tall.

The track is high traction hard packed clay. 10th scale. Slight U4 characteristics entirely flat width wise.
