Yeti Track Bashing
 
It handled better than I thought it would, and I was surprised I didn't wreck anything.

Awesome track. I've been thinking about getting a bug body for the Yeti to go along with my sand scorcher. The Yeti is tough once you get the basic hd parts.

So yeti sucks at jumps :( loved to run my 22-4 on that track tho. :)

It is a fun little track. Some of the jumps were a little rough though... it could use some grooming.

Yes, the Yeti is not the best for jumping.

my yeti acts the same way (ass over) when jumping. i think a lot of people are having that issue. just gonna take some tuning to get it to jump better.

what tires and wheels you running?

I'm not sure of the brand of the wheels, I bought them used.

Tires are Pitbull Rock Beast XORs. I wanted the Rockbeast 2s, but I didn't specify which 2.2 rockbeasts I wanted when I ordered them on the phone.

The Geometry alone of the back end and shocks may have something to do with why the ass end wants to kick up on jumps. i am thinking that limiting travel is key, as is getting the springs dialed in etc. We had similar experiences with the EXO but had to actually move the upper shock mount to remove some dead spots in the Travel. I have not looked at mine, but I wonder if you could move the shocks inside the roll cage to change the angle.

I should have geared up too. I was running 13t/64t on 3s. 16t pinion would have helped me clear the big jump a bit better.

Actually I have rethought my, well, thoughts. I am thinking it might make better since, with a straight axle to set the shocks to move as linear as possible. So at the top of the shock mounts in the rear, maybe move them as far towards the axle as possible. Does this make since, and is this decent logic on my part?

i was thinking the opposite. try to get the shock as straight up and down as possible.

70% of the trucks mass is in the front half. It natural is nose down.

yes it is but the trucks rear end also gets "slapped" into the air.

I moved my rear shocks to the rear position on the top mount. Also switched to the 14x90 white spring. I think its like 1.7lb. The yeti now takes bumps at speed much better. Jumps better, Lands better. If you hit a jump or bump flat out it still kicks the ass end up in the air. If you drive smarter not harder it is awesome.
