If I ever decide to ditch my beefed up stock AR60, I'm definitely making a move on the SSD. I know everyone raves about Curries, blah, blah, blah, but this piece is just about perfect. Seems like SSD took the time to read and hear what everyone was saying was wrong with the AR60 and built an axle around the solutions. Bigger bearings, centered design, better end caps....what's not to love? And you don't have to spend money on upgrading bearing caps inside the pumpkin. Really for the price, I don't think you could find a better offering for the AR60 design. Definitely gets an A+ in my book!

Looks very nice. The only thing I don't get it is why it is centered? (or why the AR60 isn't centered?) |

Apologies for above spat.... A centered axle will reduce torque twist most of the time and in my opinion looks better on the rear end of a vehicle. An ocp does 2 things, the lowest point is closer to a tire so in theory it will drag less. The other is that most real world vehicles need the "pumpkin" to offset so the the drive shaft coming from the transfer case will have some where to go. Either down the left or right side of the transmission/engine to the front axle. Last edited by DTB1; 06-03-2015 at 11:41 AM. |

This axle is my favorite aftermarket rc part that I have spent money on in a long time. Love it That being said, the only thing I would change is to up the diameter of the rear shafts and maybe go to a keyed hex set up like mip uses. |

SSD: Please send RPP some replacement axle shafts next shipment if you have not already done so. I like to have spares just in case. |

My new SSD axle was waiting for me when I got home yesterday...I felt like a little kid. I was still laughing when I fired the thing up and the wheels turned the wrong way. Super nice product however, for a slightly more realistic look, it needs some kind of truss to beef up the look of the axle tubes. CG3 |

IMO good as is and look's beautiful. Or you could buy VP, and bash the chit out of a high priced piece of art. | |

I think it looks better the way it is. Looks like a 9" ford that someone has slicked up for crawling.

Very nice looking axle it looks right at home under the yeti, I've got mine in black on the way from rpp Does anyone know if this thing requires you to take the front end apart and flip the gears to get the wheels going the same direction like the currie does?? |

Some kind of ramp shaped skid for the bottom would be great.. I keep getting hung due to the abrupt transition from the flat front to the bottom.. SSD or other vendor?? I may just try to fab something.. |
