I was curious how the traxxas front spool is holding up? Have you had a chance to beat on it?

Try J-B weld Plastic weld inside the diff cup with the spider gears in place. It holds up.

Well, I was gonna do silly puddy, but then I found a revo spool with 6mm outputs, so just to stick with the them of being rediculous, I went that route. If you look back in my thread I have pics of that install.

No problems with the spool so far, it's down at the moment, I'm waiting on my Traxxas aluminum knuckles and c hubs. The integrity were junk.........suprise, suprise.....lol.

The 68 spur will give you more torque, not top end, the larger 22 pinion will give you more top end, but comes at a price with higher motor temps. Love the build so far, funny how you guys are finally having to deal with the slash 4x4 2.2 wheel dilemma that us slash owners have been fighting with for years. If you wanted a 2.2 tire combo on the slash a few years ago the RPM wide crawler wheels was about your best option. Nowadays guys with the slash 4x4 run 2.2/3.0 SCT wheels and cut down the inner bead on 2.2 crawler tires and glue them on to fit.

Actually, since the slash ifs is narrower than the yeti ifs, you have lots of 2.2 options that will keep the same track width as the stock yeti setup. Like the CI wheels with 725 slw hubs. The motor I'm running is a lower kv 1/8, so hopefully the larger pinion will not heat it up too much.

Just curious how much narrower? Also curios if the wheelbase changed any? Thanks in advance!

It's about 3/4" narrower than the stock yeti front, but the funny thing is that it makes the front and rear width almost identical when you switch to the Traxxas front. The wheelbase is almost exactly the same as well.

From the centre of the front to the centre of the rear axle? I'm tempted by the Yeti X and making a Trophy truck conversion. Trying to figure out the easiest route and this might just be part of it.

Here's my slash 4x4 sporting 2.2 Mud Bashers with the SCT 2.2/3.0 wheel mod. The deep back spacing on the wheels allows you to bring the tires in even closer. Just an option if you don't mind glue on wheels vs. beadlocks.

Ok, got a few updates!

1. Replaced the integy crap with the Traxxas aluminum c hubs and knuckles!

2. Got me a set of super nice Creeper Bob TI rear axle shafts!

3. Upgraded my ESC and motor combo to the Axial yeti xl system, so I'm now running 4S!

This rig is a freaking BEAST and a blast to drive!!!!

OK, several people where wanting to know the weight of my rig. My rig has just about every heavy metal upgrade you can do other than I am running custom delrin wheels which are probably a little lighter than an aluminum beadlock.

I have a question regarding the Currie matched with the slash front end. How did u fix the problem with the diff/ring gear being on opposite sides? Is the slash front diff able to be flipped around? I know the Currie can not be.. Thanks for the help

Just got my hands on a unicorn! I've wanted this for my yetiX since the day I first built it. Dlux fab made a small batch of currie pumpkins with the large inner bearing mod. I was able to snag one!

Also finally got my killer blue wheels from Duuuuuuuuude mounted up!
