For those who want this conversion but don't want custom wheels made.. CI 6bolts fit the slash front with .600 hubs. Im running this combo on my slash 4x4.

Im curious to see how the traxxas 6mm spool holds up in this application.

That would make for an extremely wide track width up front.

True. I'm not sure how wide it would be because my slash has the protrac wide arms on it. Its around 13 inches I believe.

Re: The First Ever of its Kind! YETIX Buildthread!

The VP same width replacement hexes are 225 and 725 IIRC. A 600 up front would make it really, really wide.

Re: The First Ever of its Kind! YETIX Buildthread!

With all of the Traxxas cross compatibility wonder if a guy could run narrower arms, Teluride maybe? I don't know if they are narrower or not..

Just tossing out ideas. Im sure your DCW wheels would be the way to go.

Also, for the sake of discussion, what are the Traxxas gears made from? Are they as strong as the axial machined gears?

Re: The First Ever of its Kind! YETIX Buildthread!

Short arms might work, but could also complicate things. Besides, having the wheel that far out puts a lot of stress on bearings and carriers and axles, and gives you a horrible amount of scrub.

I'm sure Mr. Greer will enlighten us more about wheel fitment as the thread progresses. "thumbsup"

I think the Traxxas bandit has the shortest front A arms out of the traxxas family but not by much....."thumbsup"

I will get to the wheels tires and hubs in a bit. I'm going to try and take this step by step to be thourow! I welcome all questions and opinions, good or bad and will try to answer everything as I get to that process to the best of my knowledge. I will tell you I don't have alot of racing experience, this yetiX is being built as a basher.

Re: The First Ever of its Kind! YETIX Buildthread!

So, first thing I started was assembling the chassis by using the KNK Stainless kit. With all the mud and water this rig will see, this kit was a must have!

As you can see from the last pic, I have also assembled the shocks. I'm running stock for now and will see how long they last before they leak. I will probably be replacing them with the new traxxas big bore GTR set in the near future. My rig will be heavy, so I filled all four with 60wt and replaced the springs with a more firm set. You will also notice from the pic above the fabulous Yeti Tabs from CBERCFAB. These tabs allow you so many options, you can run a very wide range of shock sizes and brands! Last from the pic is the limiting straps, these will keep your shocks from over extending on high impacts and preserve the life of your shocks.

Next up I installed the STRC steering setup. there's alot of play in the stock plastic, so this upgrade really helped with the slop. Also installed the super nice fitting DCW servo saver. Pull the spring out and drop in this delrin sleeve for a better functioning steering system!

On to the rear end! So, to get the ball rolling the rear axle is the VP center pumpkin currie in silver. Inside we have hardened gears and the lovely Grip Fab spool!

I have also finished of the back with vp titanium upper links.......

.........and Dlux Fab swaybar kit......

..........and the limited run CBERCFAB Trailing arms..........

............and finally of course the MIP rear driveshaft!
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...8318160a45.jpg

Overall, I think this makes for a solid rear end!

Ok, all the electronics are waterproofed, this was done by dipping everything in corrosionX. Also did some gasket maker around the motor.
