Default Wheels for Proline super swamper XL 2.2

Hi all,
Running these tires with the proline bead lock faultline 2.2 wheels. Thought it would be a great combo because same brand but no : disapointed keep poping out.

VP and gearhead don't recommend those tires for their wheels.
What could I go for, no glued ones.
Thks

From everything I've seem seems like plastic is not a good idea for the yeti unless they are glue on wheels.

I agree ^^^

I've run the Proline Titus 2.2 beadlocks with the Proline Swampers and even Pitbulls with no issues, but that is on crawlers. I think the extra wheel speed of the Yeti combined with soft crawler type tires is just too much for a plastic wheel w/beadlock to hold. That's probably why all offroad race cars and truck use glue on wheels/tires, because they generally stay put.

The best wheel I have owned/tested that fits any tire bead & durable is vp slw! I dont think the power has that big of a impact on breaking the bead...If done properly. If that were the case the drag strip would be a tire launching event The swampers of any size is well known to be a pita to mount on certain wheels. If you are looking for a custom, strong, slw hub design, any beadlock option, offset, etc you may want to pm Duuuuuuuuuuude,he is a vendor that makes wheels to your specs.

The combo is OK for crawling but not for bashing, taking short turns and so on .

Power does in fact affect these tires staying on the beads or coming off, it's obvious in his pics, he blew the beads right off. Crawler tires are soft, when spun up at high rpm's stretch and will pull right out of the beadlock. If they were a stiffer rubber they might stay put better.

I see the issue in pics HDMM, just sharing what I have had work very well with no issues. I have glued & beadlock swampers along with many other wheel/tire combos. I do know the tsl's will hold a bead on slw's & the Duuuuuude wheels with big power...if RX-8/HH XL puller on 3s&4s is considered big enuff

Gear head wheels and superswamper xl 2.2's.... I had to add glue to the mix and that has had marginal success. I say that because as soon as use that it is starting to peel away a little bit I'm cleaning it with alcohol pads and adding glue. Not really the right way but after 200 plus bucks in wheels tires and foam something needed to work...

I'm also in the market at buying a set of these for my rig and it's mainly for crawling and short burst of 10 to 15 mph runs..

I'm looking at putting scale bolts from LURC,but the outer ring outside bolts are 2.5 x 10mm.Do you think it would be ok to use 3 x 10mm scale bolts considering it's plastic.
Any body know the diameter of the scale head bolt the washer part 3mm at the bottom of the bolt head.hope that make sense.
Plus the axle hubs hex screw x 6 are 2.6 x 8mm again i would be ok to use 3 x 8mm scale bolts on these proline faultline 2.2's.
And maybe a little shoo goo may help the bead on the bead-lock ring for the yeti but i can't see it coming off if your crawling...
If they do come off while crawling i guess it's plan "B"

Iv had good luck with external beadlock wheels like lockedup rc or even axial 8 hole if you don't need slw.

Yeti needs SLW unless you have a wide axle kit.

That's strange, my stock plastic methods are holding strong with the Falkens on 4S/3000kv. Before I mounted mine I cleaned tires and rims with alcohol.

The proline tires are not as easy to work with as axial tires. I have pittbull on and vp methods on 3 rigs that are 2500-3000kv on 4s and never a problem. A few companies even say there wheels won't work with the proline.

But for 2 proline products not to work together is pretty lame. My 1.9 xl on vp methods hold ok but not great.

Bump any recommendations on wheels for the yeti that will hold the proline tires to the rim?

Just got some and my stock kit yeti wheels won't hold them on.

Simple question, what wheels will fit I will spend the $$ if they will stay on. Vanquish says you will have issues with pro line tires

SSD 2.2 steel beadlock wheels,

I'm running Pit Bull Rock Beast II, Mamba X, Pro4 HD 3500kV, 3S 6600mAh 75-150C, 2 speed gearbox with a 35MPH top end. NEVER once lost a bead.

Cheap too @ about $35 a pair!!

Even in the ad for this wheel and tire combo you can see the tire popping off in the last few seconds. It's kind of a bummer but you might have to just glue tires aswell as running the beadlock. There has been many case of this combo having bead issues, and that is why I stayed away from this combo. I'd suggest maybe looking into some deuces wild foams and running ca glue to keep them from folding in corners and getting too ballooned under power.

If you have the money, get some proper metal/aluminum beadlocks, pit bulls, and foam and never look back.
