Default Went fireworks

Hi guys,
Installed the bec, everything was great but soldered the plug upside down.
Never saw a thing like that before.
The bec went on fire, the ESC câble melted, One of the cable of the battery juste blew off. Nice smell !

Luky I was outside !

Hope the RX still working.

What ESC notre tout expensive should I got for ?

Thanks
LV

Traxxas ET-3S is a rebranded MMP for $65 on ebay. That's quite a lesson you got there. Lol

Saw a Castle Creations Sidewinder 3 Waterproof 1/10 Sport ESC for $68, it's exactly the same as the axial.

what do you think ?

I think the ET-3S is a better option. Unless waterproof is a deal breaker for you.

I do run in wet conditions in winter, mud, etc.

Just connected the ESC to USB and it worked, do you know how to solder cable back into the ESC ? should I heat soldering metal in the hole and try to push a cable in before it freezes ?

No idea with castle escs. I doubt the way you are talking about would work. You need to heat up both surfaces them heat them together to fuse the solder from each together and that wouldn't work just heating one end.

For about the same price as the Sidewinder, you can get the Hobbywing SC8WP. The Hobbywing is waterproof like the Sidewinder but has much more power handling capabilities so it should run cooler.

HOBBYWING North America — HOBBWYING, Ezrun Waterproof, WP-SC8

The ET-3S/MMP is a better choice if you think you may want a sensored motor in the future.

The ET-3s is an MMP that has flashed firmware specifically for the funny car. It's easy to flash the firmware back to a straight MMP. For $65, it's the best deal out there. Easy to make water resistant too!

The cheapest ET-3S i see on ebay is $93.49. With RPP's sale this weekend you could pick up a genuine MMP for $108.37 and support one of the best retailers in the hobby, not some rc chop shop that provides zero warranty. Plus with flashing the firmware and you can pretty much write off getting any warranty from Traxxas.

First thing I've done to my MMPs and ET-3s do is make the boards water resistant so warranty isn't an issue with me!
