I don't think Axial was going to come up with a RWD design that puts the motor far enough in front of the rear axle to be realistic and keep it enjoyable to drive. Even RWD designs where the motor is behind the rear axle can be a handful to drive on loose surfaces. It is 4WD because Axial doesn't hate us.

If the 4WD is such a bummer to people, couldn't they just remove the front drive shaft?

My thoughts exactly. the rear has quite a bit of travel too. A 2WD with the weight so far forward would handle bad wouldn't it? No way to move it back with a solid axle..

The front diff takes up valuable space that could be used for longer A-arms and such. Which can give you more wheel travel and better geometry.

Well I'm sure you could adapt a 2wd slash front end or something. I mean CBE adapted a slash 4x4 front end?

Nice job Axial........now where is the monster truck? Once I get done building my wraith axle monster truck is when they will release one . And when they do release it, I can't wait to hear the "experts" on what axial SHOULD have done to please THEM.

Cheers,
Wade

Cool, a trophy truck that nose dives over jumps

It hopefully shouldn't be to bad. With the switch from the cage to the full body plus the low hanging spare tire the cg should have shifted. Obviously we won't know for sure until some units actually start shopping.

Don't they have 2wd sct's? I think they do (not 100% sure though). I would think the engineers at axial could figure something out. I've seen front engine, rear engine, and practically mid engine 2wd trophy trucks.

One of the coolest parts of trophy trucks is there suspension and the amount of travel they have. And the style of racing they do, which is different than the what the yeti is designed to do. Imo I just think something could have been done more along the lines of a true trophy truck.

^ well if any other manufacturer wanted to build the ultimate trophy truck they could go right ahead, but axial can sell the yeti to a new market and the same market they already dominate by doing nothing more than swapping out like 4-5 parts. But the reality is, "Scale" doesn't exist anywhere in the RC racing community because "scale" doesn't scale well most of the time, and people want things that go fast and don't break. Honestly if racers thought this score was going to be a cool thing to race they would be so upset when it inevitably breaks all the time, they already know they can run a Tekno SC for a season without breaking a thing.

No kidding, though I'm no fan of the lime green livery. But the rear cage details really sells the truck for me.

Since it shares all the nice upgrade parts with the Yeti, any Yeti owner just needs the body, cage and maybe wheels. I don't have room for another Yeti but I sure would swap the TT body with cage once I can choose my own color

Someone mentioned nosediving... well, I run two spare wheelsattached to an aluminum plate in the back, have a SSD diamond centered rear axle and an extra battery for all the lights located in the fuel cell. COG is about right behind the cab. This doesn't come down nose first...
