pictures of rims on your yeti plz? and shroud?

I just got my first rc (yeti) and tore a bead, stripped a thread on the tire, and am having a hard time cleaning the truck. does anyone use a shroud? anyways....im on a budget and wanted to buy some rims that'll fit on my original tires and foams.....can I get some pictures from you guys so I can justify spending some $$$ plz? I only run the truck on 2s ass of now but will be running 3 s soon. I want something thatll last a good while that I wont have to replace being that I just got laid off and don't have much income. thanks

look at ssd steel wheels. very affordable. i made a shroud for mine, super easy and keeps the inside clean.

Crawler Innovation 6 Bolts, cheap, sturdy, and extremely light. If you can get over the whole gluing tires they are a great rim (even than just boil the things until the glue seperates).

it seems like the yeti gets a whole lot dirtier, and a whole lot harder to clean than other off roaders like the slash for example. I stripped one of my stock wheels last night trying to hold the bead on. bummer....

that shroud is cool man. did you attach it to the cage or to the inside of the chassis? and is it just plastic?

Here's some side guards I made from scrap lexan pieces. Works pretty decent so far, and the price was right :)

The shield works great. Just watch your motor temps. The Gearhead wheels are the easiest to mount and extremely strong.

Gearhead Lightweight U4 glue-on's on my Yeti. Good thing about these besides their strength is that even with the scale hardware, they only weigh .5 oz more than the stock wheels. And I don't run any sort of shroud on my Yeti. Heat dissipation is already an issue for the RTR electronics, especially on 3s.

Those Gearhead wheels look great, and not that heavy, will they work with the stock Axial 6 bolt hubs?

Re: pictures of rims on your yeti plz? and shroud?

Those Gearhead wheels will not fit the Axial stock 6 lug hubs. But Gearhead sells the adapters to fit. Not expensive at all. Check their website out. Good guys to deal with.

Yeah, they require the Gearhead hubs, but they aren't terribly expensive. Don't remember what I paid for them, but I ordered them from RPP. Don't know if you noticed or not, but they're reversible, too, which means you can run two different offsets. I have them flipped in the rear. Can see the deeper dish if you look. Gives a little wider track width. I forget what hubs you need, but RPP's website can tell you.

Down the road if I go to aluminum wheels those'll be the ones. Really like the reversible feature for different width too. Thanks for the info guys.

Those Gearhead Aluminum rims are reversible also. Both style of those rims really look great. The guys were I race use both.

cool. thanks guys! I ended up getting the pro line faultlines. got them cheap. 40 bucks shipped from ebay for all for tires and they hold the bead so freaking tight its unbelievable. what are those things infront of your front shosks? I keep seeing them in pictures. do they limit your travel or something? and one more thing. what are you using as your window nets? thanks guys. this forum is the tits!

Yeah, they're limiting straps. They keep the shock from overextending. Need to put a set on my 1:1 Jeep actually. Articulation on my front axle is so much that the travel on my shocks allows the springs to come off their perch and usually end up sitting on the C's.

The window nets on that Yeti I got at Hobby Lobby. It comes in a square about 12''x12''. Its used for making pictures with yarn pushed through it.
Also look at some gutter guard material used to keep leaves and stuff out of the gutters. The "windshield" material was some metal mesh I found on a jobsite. Also look at window sunscreen material. The hardware store will give you a scrap piece if you ask.
