Nice rig. Im suprised you got the strc carriers to work with the vp knuckles. My ssd knuckles fit on em just fine. I had to file the strc's to get the vp knuckles to fit but wasnt happy with the result. Ended up with vp carriers AND knuckles...

I got a Krawler Konceptz inside skin made for my yeti a while back ago. I had some of my art put on the hood. I am pretty happy with the quality and fit."thumbsup"

I upgraded the sway bar with a VP setup. I am not extremely happy with it, the small set screws tend to back out...I might think about getting a different sway bar.

Re: Justin's "WARCRC U4RC Series" Axial Yeti

I took off the scale beadlock rigs on the outside because I was having some issues with the bead falling a few times. Don't mind the missing bolts, I just have to put more on...lol.

The skins are holding up pretty well.

I am pretty happy with the Proline shocks, no complaints so far.

Well, out with the old crappy non-sensored Traxxas Velineon brushless motor. I upgraded to the Brood 3300KV Vigor sensored brushless motor and it's obviously a lot smoother and has lots of more control at lower speeds(for the U4RC rock sections).

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...psxfnqxt5k.jpg

I am running a 15t 32P pinon, with the old Traxxas motor I had to run sleeve due to the smaller shaft.

All buttoned up and ready for some WARCRC U4RC racing.

Nice! I have the exact same rear axle setup! Vp v1 and strc cover with strc truss, same lower arms and ijust got proline xt shocks!
What wt are you running for oil in those? I understand if its a race setup secret, just hope im not too far off with 25 front, 15 rear. I still want articulation and dont hit huge jumps so i went on the softer/faster shock movement in hopes the dual rate springs would do most of the work.

Super nice rig! Post vids of your next race if possible!

Not to thread jack, but what happened to the ssd knuckles? I just bought a pair after snapping 2 sets of axial replacements. Still on stock axial chubs for now.

I still have the SSDs layin around somewhere. They were great with the stock uprights (and STRCs) but IIRC I only replaced them with VP knuckles because they didnt play nice with my VVDs... Id still be running the SSDs if I hadnt changed the axles. In retrospect, I would have done DLux axles and kept the SSD knuckle/ STRC upright combo. :)

Now back on topic...

Thanks! I am not sure what light bar it is but it's just a dummy unit., I got it in a trade....just never took it off.

Yeah, I use thread lock. I think I need to get some more set screws, maybe that will fix the issue because other the the set screws....I am happy with the VP sway bar.

I don't remember what oil I used, maybe 55? I am not a big shock tuner but the setup seems to be working ok. I think need to lower the rear down a bit though because looking at the pictures again it's sitting a bit high.

Justin, I'm really liking the "Wild" graphic on the new wrap, which looks fantastic by the way. I'm a little surprised to see it on a Seattle based U4 rig, very cool. "thumbsup"

Re: Justin's "WARCRC U4RC Series" Axial Yeti

I swapped in some new Proline Yeti Rear shocks in, I had some in the past but sold them off when I thought I was selling this truck. After driving it again at the last WARCRC U4RC Race I am glad I didn't, it' handles a lot better then my Bomber. It also sits a lot lower, making cornering more fun.

Fresh shock oil, I think I used 40w.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psivcpotxy.png

I am big fan of most all the Proline shocks, big shafts and really smooth.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psg1ff9kn9.png

I don't have any delrin cups for these so I just ended up using some zip ties to keep the spring retainer on.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps6mpn3hlz.png

I might add another, but it's a bummer when you lose one. :)
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psmltg86th.png

All bolted in.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psibvwisdd.png

I also sold of the rear top alum shock mount, I might get them again because the plastic is a little weak.

Re: Justin's "WARCRC U4RC Series" Axial Yeti

I also picked up some new Vanquish Produts Axial Yeti trailing arms. The fit and finish on these are pretty sweet. I also like the design on how the ball end gets captured with an aluminum cap and also locked in place with a long set screw.

https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psl5ngqdsc.png

The new VP ones are obviously stronger then the stock pieces. #beef
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psait3dfmv.png

I would hate to machine the small retaining pieces, super tiny and fit really snug.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psclrf5cfd.png

The kit includes a lot of nice hardware too.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psjhqtzrsz.png

You can see bit of the tapped hole on the right where the long set screw goes.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psjeib5vaf.png

I will have to go back and add a bit of lock tight, I don't want those retaining pieces to get lost. :P
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...psfy466zzq.png

Same length and fitment.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j...pswqzs8lvl.png

I am also running some VP shocks mounts as well.

Bringing my yeti back to life, not terribly clear on what a good steering setup is with these, what did you use?

I running a old Savox I got in a trade. The servo mounting is not the best right now, I might end up making an alum plate the servo will mount to so the steering is more rigid. The sloppy steering cost me a lot of positions at the last race, it will definitely be fixed before next race. :)
