Trophy Truck kit. What colour?
 

I love the look of the TT kit the way Axial has it painted grey, but it's impossible to find a spray can of plain, light grey for polycarbonate. Nearest I can find is grey vinyl/fabric spray, which I've heard works pretty good on polycarbonate. I'm not really keen on buying an airbrush and mixing my own paint.

So, what else have people done? I've seen some pics in dark blue that look okay, and a darker grey that's also nice, but they look metallic and I'd really like to go more retro with a non-metallic paint.

I'm open to other ideas, but want to keep the white/orange/blue stickers, so want a colour that works well with those.

What about the tamiya corsa grey,iv just done my yeti in the gun metal grey,will do my tt the same when I get it as it looks the dogs danglers

I haven't seen it firsthand, but corsa grey looks a little blue/green in pictures. Apparently, Tamiya made a pastel grey that looks about perfect, but it was a special issue and has been discontinued?

Still, I'd be curious to see a TT painted corsa grey with the blue/orange/white stickers - still might work okay.

Can confirm, the Tamiya Corsa Gray (PS-32) gets you the color of the box art. The studio shots on the sides look neutral gray, but the main pic has the bluish tint under all of that dirt. I just painted my Score TT today. It took 2 cans of PS-32 to get good coverage.

Well, took a while but finally got the kit built and painted. In case anyone is interested, here's what a Yeti TT painted Corsa Grey looks like.

I like it, but it's definitely not a light grey like I had originally wanted. I don't think there's any way you can call Corsa Grey anything but light blue. Maybe they should call it Shop Towel Blue? :)

I can see that maybe Axial's shots of the truck running in the desert are of a Corsa Grey truck: there does seem to be a hint of blue under the orange dust. But for sure all of the studio shots are of a truck painted some other kind of grey.

Oh, well. No worries. I think the truck looks great and it's been a blast to drive so far.

Okay, another pic, because why not.

This one after a week of ripping through the red sand around Moab. Also in the bright light around mid-day. Truck does look a little more grey in this shot.

All you had to do was go a few pages back in the picture thread. Painted my TT corsa grey. I backed mine w white and it looks a touch more grey. But yeah, it definitely has a blue tint to it but I think it looks great.

I am painting a Traxxas TRX4 Sport kit body this color. Exactly what I am looking for!!

Were your stripes decals or paint? If decals any idea where I might be able to source the decals?

The stripes are just the decals that came in the kit.
