My Yeti will never be as fast as my Slash4x4 for bashing. My Slash 4x4 will never crawl as good or go through rocks as well as my Yeti. Both beasts in their own way, but solid axle vs IRS, big difference. Both equal fun, both way overdone by me Hang up and Drive Last edited by mikemcE; 11-15-2016 at 06:26 AM. |

Ok, here we go, box arrived. Here it is.. Got a fresh Tactic radio too, I've had good luck with those around my yard. Couple extra goodies.. Ok.. Box. Inside.. I'm going to do this thing mostly box stock, and upgrade as things break. I will call out in the build when I go away from kit build. Diff built stock, kit diff oil, plenty of grease on the gears.. Built the rear axle stock too, had to compare it to my others .. |

Jumped ahead and put together the wheels and tires, my other axial cars are 1.9 so these are pretty big. I put them together with the one vent hole open. |

Shafts look nice... Found my first issue. There was a spindle loose in the bag, (off the tree), and when I went to put it together it seems someone at axial noticed a spindle had fallen off the tree and put a new one in the bag. Happens to be a duplicate of the one on the tree. Contacted them at the "Contact US" tab on their webpage last Friday, still no response. Oh well, hopefully my LHS will have some. Back on the build. Came with turnbuckles...don't look like the pics. Putting it together without the duplicate spindle I had ordered these before I noticed the kit version comes with bearing steering, oh well, I'll put them in. Steering link seems wimpy Picked up a waterproof servo.. Tossed in a sidewinder V2 that I had sitting here |

I just finished building my kit and noticed that it came with steel turnbuckles and ball bearing steering with steel posts. I thought the kit came with anodized aluminium turnbuckles and plastic bushing steering. Can't complain both things are better than what was advertised to be in the box.

The ball bearing was also in my kit. but mine came with the alu turnbuckles. they changed to the steal version early this year, which is recommended. cause the alu turnbuckles doesn't last long. i used traxxas then, steal version wasn't out at that time. i saw in the pics you are using the kit foams, be preparred to change them. cause they give zero sidewall support and are way too soft. CI DW Std are the most choosen ones. |

Thanks for the info, ordered the Deuce's Wild Single Stage 2.2 Standard Foam. I took the motor and ESC out of a very ill handling HPI Blitz that I had here, not sure how the motor will do but the ESC should be ok. Transmission time.. Installed.. |

More assy.. Had an issue when I bolted in the driveline, the drivetrain didn't want to turn smooth. Seems to be a gap on the front side.. Pulled out the Tcase.. Closer look.. Hmm.. Flipped the main shaft.. Back together.. Trailing arms have these little braces.. Bought some for the uppers.. Roller..kinda. still need a knuckle. Shocks! Looks like a lot better stuff for the cartridges than what came in my SCX102 There is one. |

More shock work.. Picked up some Vanquish hubs, seemed like a better way to go. Shocks all done.. Bumper for bumping.. Front shocks on.. Rear Shocks on..Seems like the oil may be a bit light... Think that may be it for the chassis.. New hubs bolted on.. Vroom! Foam is really really soft.. Set some bodies on it just to get a sense of the size.. Proline Body off of my SCX10II Body from my SC10 Yeti Body.. My new foams came in..wow quite a difference in tire rigidity. Is there an easy way to get these into the tires? Installed the freakyskins interior decal set, I am going to do some detail paint now, the shiny paint isn't working. Getting closer.. |

Pulled out the interior, want to detail it a bit.. Pulled off the seatbelt stickers, and painted everything satin black, then used some flat grey as a primer for the dudes.. Flat orange, and some flat blue pants.. |
