I just want parts. I'm an rc addict and if there is a nice part that I can put on this thing to make it uniquely mine I will get it. I could see myself wanting to replace the upper rear links with something a bit more like the bigger brethren. Aluminum bodied shocks, maybe a nice esc and receiver tray that will accept non oem equipment.

So soon as the rccrawler.com gang start raving about how ridiculously fun this new mini Yeti is, I will be getting one to rage around the living room with when it's 5F outside. I just need to find a way to slow it down to a crawl too so my toddler can try running it too. I'm all kinds of excited about this thing. I don't see any reason not to be

The Castle micro motors don't seem like they are going to be a good fit for this truck. They are tiny compared to a 380 sized motor and designed for smaller, lighter vehicles. The size and weight of the 1/18 Yeti makes it more comparable to a 1/16 Traxxas car and no one runs Castle micro electronics in those.

I would research the popular brushless motors that people use in the 1/16 Traxxas and Losi mini 8ight as a guide.

Micro X is rated for 1.5-2.25# 2 or 4wd. These things weigh in at 1.75#. By my simple research these seem to be exactly what the Micro X is for. The size of the motor doesn't mean squat especially when comparing brushed to brushless.

I do have a spare 380 velineon setup that I may try but that would surely tear this thing apart

I would imagine even the older 25 amp mamba micro would be enough for this. I've run them on 4S on smaller 1/18s without issue. Granted they were a bit smaller, but it handled 4S high KV and high gearing without a problem

The Mamba Micro X should be great, it is only the motor that I don't like.

Like I said, the 1/18 Yeti specs out similar to a 1/16 Revo (wheelbase, weight, tires) and no one runs the 0808 motor in those. People will definately be crawling these, locking the diffs, and installing bigger tires which is harder on a motor than blasting a Mini-T around a parking lot. There is easily the room for a larger motor, why risk heat issues with a smaller motor?

Also, the 0808 uses a 2MM shaft for micro pinions and it appears the 1/18 Yeti uses standard 48P pinions. Finding pinions may be difficult.

Edit: Looked over the gear setup from the manual and there is no additional gear reduction besides the pinion/spur and diffs, a 4100kv motor will have you going 20+ MPH on 2S. Mini cars aren't much fun for long when they are that fast.

Most MERV (mini e-revo) modders run 540 motors. I'm running a 3000kv brushless 540 in mine and it's great on 2s. I could see people trying to cram a 540 in the Yeti Jr if the room is there.

Interesting, Tower Hobbies no longer allows you to use their coupons on Axial Trucks and Kits... I am seriously disappointed by this news. Apparently, this is Axial's decision.

That's been the case for a little while now. It's been a hot topic on here and the FB groups

Cool thanx for pointing that out. Maybe it's possible that I meant to say spur but said trans. since 95% of the time I'm messing around with 1/10 and 1/8.

Anyways these are all parts that I've experienced to fail on my rc18.

I should have mine on the 19th. You must live closer to Sparks Nevada.

I don't have mine yet, but I've already got some parts designed up for it. Just need the box to show up so I can get the calipers to the parts to make sure the measurements are correct, and start testing the parts out.

Expect some parts from JC Auto Design VERY SOON! (now we just need Hobbico to release some of the replacement parts so I can get to chopping...)
