Yeti Jr. upgrades
 

Upgrades beyond electronics are very limited at the time of this post.

So far we have the following confirmed

Losi pinions that fit the stock spur width and 2mm shaft
LOSB1260

Rc18t and T2 turnbuckles

Will add more cause there are others

Pro line powerstroke scaler 90mm shocks for rear

Here's a strictly aesthetic upgrade. The Icon logo is already on the side of the body so I made the shock resis match. Picked these aluminum faux piggyback reservoirs up at the LHS for $6. There's enough plain black plastic on this truck so I'm doing little things to make it look nicer. Axial part # AX30131

Haha, I just installed those myself!

Speaking of upgrades, thinking of moving to a 1.7 metal beadlock. More unsprung weight to stop the Jr tipping so much (ha, who am I kidding, its still gonna tip). Lightly stretched tires will also take away some of the tire fold that goes on with the 1.55s, better for bashing, not so much rock crawling. A one piece locked rear diff will help with that tho! (and make it tip even more, uh :lmao:)

i bet you snap axles all the time with heavier wheels, never heard of adding wheel weight to anything but a crawler, reducing unspring weight is generally the name of the game for going quickly.

Yea I know for going fast you want little unsprung weight and sprung weight. However, the Yeti is very tippy so the lowered COG created by having more unsprung weight : sprung weight should help keep the wheels planted more, and have the thing not rolling as much. As for axles.... we'll see. There's a RCC Vendor (can't remember of the top of my head) who's currently developing some steel rear axles, for the front I guess I'll have to sort something out if I break as many as it sounds like you think I will!!!!

There Are pictures up now of it installed. I had to order one. I like the idea of the battery being moved forward and down low

I'm in for a skid and battery plate, those things are sweet. I'd prefer an aluminum battery plate though. The weight on these trucks really needs to be kept at a minimum to ensure reliability.

I'm back in the game with my TT thanks to the really helpful post that someone made in regards to the Team Associated ball cups and turnbuckles. After replacing the stock links and ball-cups my steering is now very smooth and free. I ran it in the backyard and was thrilled that I could actually run a whole battery and that the steering is now predictable. The steering linkage has been the top upgrade for me. The only thing left from the original electronics is the motor.

I'd like to get some beadlocks, for a little more width and added weight but at the same time keeping it light. SSD D-hole 1.55" was my first choice but those are 1.9oz each. Second choice was Gearhead 1.55" UTE which are 1.6oz with full hardware. But then I see the rc4wd 1.55" black stamped beadlocks and those are the lightest at 1.2oz each.

Opinions? I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering about beadlocks.

Personally I'm looking at the RC4WD TRO 1.7s and stretching the 1.55s round. Wee bit less sidewall will help high speed as well. Additional low weight will lower COG.

That's not a bad idea either. But depends on the weight of those rims for me.

I'd love to see some CI deuce wild foams come out.

Mmmm, I'm not overly worried about the wieght (of the wheels). It helps shift the COG down and with 3S I shouldn't have issues spinning them. As for breaking parts, well, we'll see. A locker in the back from monkeyracer should help, as least I won't be blowing out the rear spider gears!
