Default Are the Axial 92mm universals tough?

I'm in Aus and overseas parts like Dlux etc are expensive and freight costs a bundle.

I was wondering if the Axial 92mm unis are tough enough to handle 3S with a locked front diff IF we don't jump much (small jumps on loose surfaces only) or do any crazy stuff.

It will only be run on dirt or grass.

Stock 3150kv motor and gearing.

I don't want to spend $160 or whatever a set of killer unis cost delivered to my door as that's 1/4 the price of the entire truck just for shafts.

Any feedback would be great!

The Axial universals are pretty durable, they are the best option outside of Dlux shafts.

A locked diff will be tough on any front shaft but the Axial ones should hold up to the intended use. If you are not crawling then unlocking the front would be the best option to both improve steering and keep the front driveshafts from bending.

I bent two pair before I switched to Dlux. Shock limiting straps will help

Mike, were they definitely the 92mm shafts rather than the 94mm units and were you running locked front?

How did you think they kept bending? Was it a particularly hard type of driving like jumping or hard bashing over rocks or just mostly trailing/crawling where they bent?

From what I read and like svt923 said, the Axials do seem to be the next best thing to the Dlux units.

Are the straps basically to stop the suspension drooping too far? What does that actually do to stop the bending (I thought some of the shafts were bending because of bottoming out and being too long in the cups - the old 94mm shafts for example)?

I bent mainly after a roll, weight of the tires stretched things out, kept bending them. So I went Dlux. My wraith however I've had great luck with the axials, yes I run full lockers.
They were the shorter ones.
