Default Yeti and the Mamba X??

Anyone run this in their yeti?

It's the new mamba X with a 4600 kv sensors motor?
It says up to 5 lbs but I have been reading around and I know guys are running this.

Any input, thoughts or suggestions???

I am still researching alternate motors for the yeti, but I gather they should be in the 2800-3800kv range, depending on vehicle weight and use.

Why are you considering 4600kv?

Only because it's in the set. I might get a HH motor. I am just undecided.

I have basically rebuilt my yeti and the esc/ motor are all that's left.

I was running a castle sensored motor 1410 3800kv, in my yeti and it was on the slow side for me. My buddy runs a Tekin 4600kv and its crazy perfect haha.

Well the combo I am looking at has a 4600kv. I want it because it eliminates the BEC and its sensored.

What size is the motor? 1406? If so might getter warmer than usual.

All of the sensored mamba-x combos include an internal high-current BEC, from 1800kv on up.

Mamba X

I'm just curious about how one settles on a kv number, given the manufacturer's recommendations by weight, and the common mantra of 'volt up and gear down for speed'.

Is this just to go fast on pavement? 2s? 3s?

Like I said, I think I will be switching to a HH motor shortly, like i said.
It's is gonna be on 2S. I have different options of places to run.

If you are switching motors then why even mention or buy the 4600kv? Just ask about the ESC then, and yes the Mamba X will work fine in the Yeti. Like you said your gonna switch to HH motor.

Monster X and Puller Pro XL works great in my slightly obese Yeti.

After catching the tekin roc412 HD thread in the electronics forum, I'm thinking the Mamba X (for the aux wire) and the roc412 HD 3100kv motor on 3s. This combo should give me the speeds I currently get or better with the current weight of the truck (8 lbs) and fits the recommendations of the manufacturer(s) for crawling and trail use.

I'll use the hot wire to turn on the drag brake in low gear; I don't have much cogging now, but with the sensored setup, it will be even smoother, and it should be a lot less sensitive to gearing (compared to the RTR esc/motor). And it frees up the rtr combo for use in another project.

Default Yeti and the Mamba X??

Great combination !
I'm running the older MMP and a Tekin 3100HD, the roc would be an upgrade , and the X wasn't available when I spec'ed mine out. Let us see and know how it works for you

Running a MMP & Pro4 4000kv on 3S in my 11lb Yeti. The only time I was concerned of the loads on the ESC was on Trail I at AF'17. It was in the high 80's/low 90'sºF when I started the trail. 99% of the trail was out on the sun exposed rock, and the ESC fan was blazing away nearly the entire time. Motor was warm to the touch, and esc was a tad warmer than the rest of the rig, but never had any issues.
