Curious to see how that centered axle works out. I was looking at adding that to mine as well.

I too didn’t care for the yeti look..... so a raptor body went over the SSD centered rear axle. Eliminated a bunch of handling issues seems to help keeping rear on the ground also.

So everything seems to be 1 step forward 3 steps backward for me lately.

I got a bunch of the screws replaced on the Yeti using the Team KNK screw kit. I ended up not using some of them, because I have upgraded parts in certain areas that came with hardware that were different from stock.

Put together the Incision upper rear links.

Put together the SSD RC HD D60 Centered Rear Axle Case...

Then FML happened. Somehow the bracket for the upper links split while I was screwing in the screw to attach the upper links. I'm stuck with a useless axle housing now unless I can get a replacement upper link mount/truss... or buy another complete set.

Really bummed. Wanted to get this project out of the way, because I know work is going to be painful for me for the next several weeks. Won't have time to do anything.

Yes, already did. Chris sorted me out. Glad I went with SSD. They've got me as a customer now. The axle housing and the trailing arms are my first SSD products and won't be my last.

Which handling issues did the centered rear axle eliminate? Do you think it was mostly the extra weight of it that helped, or is it also related to being centered?

Thanks

Default Soze's Axial Yeti Kit Progress tracker.

I had issues with torque, it didn’t lift and twist, just caused wandering. I run a Tekin 4x4HD 3000. The little difference in weight( trusses and beef tubes) didn’t do much different. The extra wide though has saved bearings and axles so far, as I have spares .

So here are some pictures of my progress before my SSD axle mishap. I've ordered a second axle housing while I wait for the replacement part as I can use the additional axle housing for the Bomber or Wraith that I also have yet to build.

Team KNK Screw Kit

SSD HD D60 Centered Axle Housing (before my misshap with the link mount) with SSD Wide D60 Conversion Kit

Progress with the Team KNK screws...

Yeti in pieces...

Found this when I took off the arms... I can only think of one time where I actually had any sort of impact and it wasn't that bad... weak ass screws.

Bought some Axial AXA0128 M3x61mm replacements... I'll have to sleeve these like I've read others have done... or figure something out.

Xtra Speed 56T Spur gear going in...

Those Vanquish slipper plates won't work, I mistakenly got the Wraith ones.... which I'll now use on the Wraith.

Spur in... didn't take a picture with the mesh adjusted yet.

More pictures of screw replacement progress.

About to put the upgraded Incision Upper links and SSD Trailing arms on before I ran into my mishap.

Got some of the updates done over the holidays...

Was going to sleeve the stock pins, but instead went with M3x60mm 12.9pt screws that I found

SSD Trailing arms and Incision Upper links installed and mounted onto the SSD HD D60 Axle.

So, I was ordering some Orlandoo Hunter parts off Asiatees and I decided to just throw in some Boom Racing Aluminum parts for the Yeti to get my cart to a certain dollar amount for shipping.

Boom Racing Aluminum Steering Knuckle Caster Block
Boom Racing Aluminum Steering Knuckle
Boom Racing Aluminum Rear Upper Shock Mount

Check out my warped plastic shock mount.

Shock mount installed
