Default Replacing hinge pin nut in chassis?

Has anyone ever successfully done this? I've heard it's possible, but can't find any video or solid info on how you'd get it out or replace it. I've got a stripped chassis I'm trying to fix..pin keeps backing out

Not sure which pin you mean, but a good start would be the kit manual. See how the nut is "embedded" in the frame and try to do the steps in reverse order.

The nut is just pressed into a slot in the chassis. A pry tool should be able to pop it out.

Is the nut spinning in the chassis or is the nut stripped? If the nut is stripped, pop it out and pop a new one in. If it's the nut spinning in the chassis, that's going to be more difficult and is going to require you to either epoxy it into place, or come up with a different solution.

Okay, wow. So..axial told me I had to find a new chassis..but yeah, they're really easy to replace. Even had some spare nuts on the tree. So just in case anyone else finds this..it doesn't take a pry tool, there are actually holes under the hinge nuts used to pop them up / out. Paper clip works perfect. Then it's as easy as setting the new nylon nut axa1053 on top and pressing it on with pliers.

Use metal locknuts instead of the plastic ones.

ax80018 # 2 on the tree is the inner hinge pins nut. axa1053 is the steel lock nut for the outer hinge bolt closest to the knuckle. It sounds like axial didn't understand what you where looking for probably because of different terminology. Best thing to do is look up the yeti kit manual. Its the easiest way to figure this stuff out. http://docs.axialracing.com/instruct...ic_4WD_Kit.pdf

axa1053 or any M3 locknut works in both locations.

For sure you can always upgrade/modify. I was just pointing out the fact its easier to look in the manual for the problem your facing. Sometimes it gets lost in translation. If he had bought the skid as he was told it would have been a waste. Someone reading he post may not realize the difference between the two pins and miss the inner nut being replaceable.
