what do you mean"The esc shat itself?"

Servo tactic somethin 57
Esc axial yeti stock
Motor yeti stock
Reciever ax3

Chinesium a$$ battery

I was out running it with a friend and after leaving it sitting on for a few minutes i went to drive it again, and i turned and it just shut off.i get it home to bench test it and i noticed when i turn my fans would slow slightly.if i turn all the way to the right it tries to go and makes a horrible noise, kinda hummy sounding, then goes. If i turn it left it stutters. If i give it throttle it just cuts out a few seconds later. Unplugging servo solves all issues. Im leaning tword a bad servo or a bad internal bec. I put this in the yeti thread because of all the stock electronics. Thanks in advance. If you want a video let me know im glad to answer any other questions.

Do you have another servo you can try on it to test your assessment? You seem to be on the right track

My bet is on the servo, I went through a ton of those Tactics early on before I learned its better to just upgrade.

I forget the technical term but JRH described how some cheaper servos lack overload protection. If you park for a long period where the servo is trying to re-center itself it will get hot and draw more amps, the hotter it gets then more amps it draws until it becomes a feedback loop and runs away ending in a melted servo (internally). This is the point at which it might feed back voltage to the receiver and ESC and do weird stuff.

Thats probably what happened. I had it flexed out on a wall and the wheels were cocked slighty.it still steers tho. Ill get a servo from a buddy and see what happens. Thanks!

I too would be checking the servo first, that's most likely the problem. I've had a couple Tactic units that actually had so much wire exposed where the lead goes into the board that they short themselves out.

If it's not the servo, could be the RX as well.
