Thanks guys. The cutting of the rear housing is pretty simple and it doesn't have to be perfect or perfectly straight. We are not going to be offering replacement shafts. I dont see any way that someone could break these.

No matter how much motor you have or how bad you drive, They are beefy! The shafts were put into a vise and we twisted on them with vise grips as hard as we could to see when they would break. We also did the same think to the axial, and rc4wd rear straight axles, and after 3 attempts with them they broke. Our shafts didnt twist in the slightest and then we beat on them with a hammer for 10 minutes trying to break them.

i was thinking there might be more to the install, pretty simple though. if i end up breaking a shaft(likely) or having any problems with the FUBARs(not likely) i will definatly be picking these up

I received the kit two days ago and installed it. I followed the directions from the website down to the letter. The problems I see that some will have. If you cut the inner knuckles off where the directions tell you to it will not leave you enough material to drill and tap at the location where the holes are on the lockouts. I had to drill new holes 90 degrees from the original holes inboard. I then used those holes as a guide to mark the axle tubes and drilled and tapped the axle tubes at the more inboard locattion. The second problem I had was the long shaft. The machined portion that the bearing slides over was to big. I had to stick the axle shaft in a drill, run the drill, and use some 220 grit sand paper to take the diameter down just a hair. The short side was perfect.

I have another set that I will be installing on the berg I am building for my wife. I will not cut the the complete in knuckle off but just cut the knuckle ears off and file down the remaining material till it is smooth and the lockouts fit over the ends. That should aleveate the problem of moving the mounting holes inboard.

The long side shaft problem I would fix the same way as I did for my brothers.

Also the bearings that you remove from the knuckles and install into the end of the lockouts have a little slop when installed in the lockout ends. I would have like to see them fit a hair tighter.

Hope this helps.

I will be installing my wifes tonight or tomorrow and let you know how that went. Overall a pretty easy install.

Installed mine the other day. I cut the ears off of the C's and had plenty of room to drill and tap the axle housing. Overall very strait forward install.
