Got the kit installed last night. The pieces in the kit are great, I had a bunch of clearance issues to deal with. Obviously the knuckle arms need to be trimmed (outer hole cut off), but I needed to change the lower shock bolt to a buttonhead as well. The drag link connection at the servo horn was an issue at the shock and spring, but when I put rod ends on the upper links for the 4-link, I gained a little space. Next I want to improve on the knuckle to tie rod connection. The way it is now, you need to run the bolt loose in order to have enough play for smooth operation. A friend suggested thrust bearings on either side of the tie rod, then you can tighten the bolt and the connection will be tight while offering smooth operation. The thrust bearings will cost about $10 using heli parts. Or we thought about greasing some plastic washers as a cheaper alternative. I'm also going to reuse my original steering links for rear steer. I'm not planning on competing, so no worries about 2.2 rules. My friend has 4ws and I'm at a great disadvantage when trying to follow his lines. Plus, I want to use more features on my DX6i.

I just ordered 1. I can't wait to get it.

You should update the first post in the thread with the list of what knuckles it does and does not work with. just a suggestion. I almost didn't buy the kit because I didn't want to go through the whole thread to find out if they would work with my VP high clearance knuckles.

Thanks!!

As long as they have the same geometry as the stock knuckles they should work fine.

The kit doesn't work with high steer knuckles that move the tie rod connection point away from the stock location.

Got axial cvd with vp high steers, if you put 6mm spacers between it will max out steering...

This kit would be even greater if i had some kind of bearing on the steering link, so i could be tighten down, instead of the little slop it gives, but at this price, the kit is very good!

i run mine with vp high steer knucks with axial cvds no issues at all, a bearing or bushing would be nice cuz it you tighten it down all the way its to stiff so you need to take a lil off and use locktite and there is a tiny bit of play but it works

I found that if you put some grease like Mobil 1 red syn, or I used a poly-graphite grease between all the places that there is metal on metal contact work it in, then tighten down. I still do not over tighten, but just tight enough to get all the slop out. Works great after that and not over heating on the servo.

Also I grinded down the backside of the tierod (hitting the pumpkin) at an angle to match the pumpkin, to get full steering.

When I was running an AX-10 I drilled the holes in the tie-rod and added spacers like the knuckles have. I could tighten it all the way down and still have free movement.

Are they "high steer" or the same geometry as the stock Axial knuckles?

They do not work with the CKRC High steer knuckles. Just tried that yesterday.
The GH Racing Aluminum knuckles work but you need to grind outer holes off for clearance.
